In a squalid South American oil town, four desperate men sign on for a suicide mission to drive trucks loaded with nitroglycerin over a treacherous mountain route. As they ferry their explosive cargo to a faraway oil fire, each bump and jolt tests their courage, their friendship, and their nerves. The result is one of the greatest thrillers ever committed to celluloid, a white-knuckle ride from France’s legendary master of suspense, Henri-Georges Clouzot.

The Wages of Fear
The Wages of Fear is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.33:1. On widescreen televisions, black bars will appear on the left and right side of the image to maintain the proper screen format. This new high-defintion digital transfer was created on a Spirit Datacine from a 35mm fine-grain master. Thousands of instances of dirt, debris, and scratches were removed using the MTI Digital Restoration System.
The soundtrack was mastered at 24-bit from ta 35mm magnetic track, and audio restoration tools were used to reduce clicks, pops, hiss, and crackle.
