Licensor Information
Les Films de Mon Oncle
Directed by: Jacques Tati
Featuring: Jacques Tati
Slapstick prevails again when Jacques Tati’s eccentric, old- fashioned hero, Monsieur Hulot, is set loose in Villa Arpel, the geometric, oppressively ultramodern home of his brother-in-law, and in the antiseptic plastic hose factory where he gets a job. The second Hulot movie and Tati’s first color film, Mon oncle is a supremely amusing satire of mechanized living and consumer society that earned the director the Academy Award for best foreign-language film.

Release Notes on Restoration
Mon Oncle
Mon oncle is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.33:1. On widescreen televisions, black bars will appear on the left and right of the image to maintain the proper screen format. This digital transfer was created in 2K resolution from the edited camera negative at Technicolor in Arane-Gulliver in Clichy, France, where the film was also restored. The 2013 restoration was undertaken by Les Films de Mon Oncle.
The original monaural soundtrack was remastered at 24-bit at L.E. Diapason in Épinay-sur-Seine, France, from the optical track off the negative.
