I remember reading that the VS disc wasn’t done by FiM. 88 got David M to do the encode, so you’re getting a small uptick in detail and likely better highlights - the usual pixel-peeper advantages. 88’s specs list optional SDH subs, which I interpret as being for the entire feature. Extras are also different!

Sadly not one of the Paramount titles that had a superior encode done by Plaion in Italy, to my knowledge.

No screenshots yet but compared favorably to the VS for grading (of course) and FIM encode

The VS version was originally placed in the Red category.
How significant is the difference between that and the 88 Films version??
Another question: VS had subtitles for only dialogue spoken in a non-English language. As far as I know, it did not have HDH subtitles. Does the 88 Films version have subtitles for all dialogue?

The Vinegar Syndrome edition features two subtitle tracks: SDH for all dialogue, and another solely for non-English dialogue.

Posted this already in the other forum, but further evidence Warner Archive have and will continue to mop the floor with their parent's home entertainment division!

Also, this confirms that AUNTIE MAME 4K not including a remastered BD is in fact a mere production error. David M even confirmed he did produce a BD encode for that one in addition to the UHD encode, so not sure what happened that an older encode was sent to the plants for one of the included discs, or the plants ended up repressing an older disc by accident themselves.

I have it and it looks and sounds fantastic. Not sure why it is not in the red tier.

I assume it's in the blue tier because it's SDR and the Shout blu is from the same 4k master, which apparently has some DNR like a lot of Japanese anime remasters.

SDR only would not be a reason not to have it in the red. I know where I'm going! is SDR and looks at least as good as films in Dolby Vision and HDR. I think it was quite a while since we added Millennium Actress to the list and my guess its "only" in the blue tier because the gap between the UHD and Blu-ray isn't huge.
