My first memory of seeing anything with Henry Fonda or a glimpse of anything directed by John Ford was actually through this movie of all places. (And surprised to see it’s from 1989, no doubt overshadowed by that other movie starring Keaton later that same year.)

The Gracie Allen Murder Case is a nice surprise. I'm late to the party on discovering Allen's comic chops but she's very funny here. Not everything works - some of the schtick can be annoying and the plot itself has both its exciting and duller sections, but ultimately there are enough gags that hit to keep the momentum going for 75 minutes. I laughed a lot. Well worth picking up at a KL sale

I am actually a bit surprised because I figured KLSC would have gone for Le gitan due to their recent Giovanni releases (Kino Insider previously said they were releasing one of these two titles)

Le Choc is absolute dogshit with two minor saving graces of a good score and a weird Stephane Audran cameo. You'd think there wasn't much new to say about the hitman who wants out etc narrative, and you'd be right. Presumably KLSC licensed this because you get to see Delon's dick in it (funnily enough, the only other film i know of where that's also true is... Traitement de choc. When Delon promises "shock" he delivers, I guess) and not for his dubious co-writing credit. Who wants to claim a movie this lame anyways?

The Hunter will Get You (1976) (BD & DVD)

Well, this was a lot better than I expected (though my expectations were somewhere in the "morbid curiosity" range). Decent premise here - Bruno Cremer tricks juvenile delinquents into assisting in robberies and then kills them immediately after - and Belmondo teaming up with the only victim of Cremer to survive is fun. I enjoyed that the film kept getting sidetracked from the actual plot with Cremer into other tasks Belmondo's "outsider" operator had to deal with (Cremer might legit disappear for like an hour in the middle of this film) and despite Belmondo not being a master of disguises (there's a good reason he doesn't sport a mustache in many if any other films, I promise you!) it's always fun to watch a movie about someone who's good at something. Also has an incredible main theme that sounds like something out of an Argento movie. I'd grab a copy for cheap before the market inflates it above the actual value offered by the film!
