If you're interested in the co-writers, you'll enjoy the Jonathan Lethem and Kevin Wynter conversation.

Glad to see some love for Bob Godfrey's Kama Sutra Rides Again and Mickey Mouse in Vietnam. Along with Reichenbach's The Marines, all three are written about in Amos Vogel's "Film As A Subversive Art", where Kubrick also figures highly. There's a fantastic letter to Kubrick from Vogel in Jerome Agel's "The Making of 2001".

Re: The Complete Kubrick
From what I gathered in Kubrick: An Odyssey, it sounds like Hasford was kind of, uhm, a handful. (Among other things, not long after the film came out, Hasford pled guilty in the largest library book theft in American history.) We lost him in 1993, IIRC.beamish14 wrote: Wed Jul 15, 2026 4:42 pm I was really hoping for more on Kubrick’s co-writers, especially Gustav Hasford (who actually was in Vietnam with Dale Dye, Oliver Stone’s military advisor on his films)
Sadly, we also lost Michael Herr a decade ago, who would’ve been intensely interesting.

Too bad Crit didn't get a thingamabob from James B. Harris for Lolita, yet he's all over the new Imprint set.

Modine is interviewed in Kubrick Remembered and Life In Pictures. Also, he's in the behind the scenes FMJ material.

I’m surprised the set doesn’t include Filmworker (2017), the Leon Vitali documentary. Seems like a no-brainer supplement.
Hopefully it’ll make it in.

Re: The Complete Kubrick
Kino Lorber has put that out on Blu-ray, which would require involving yet another rightsholder. I'd rather see them include S Is for Stanley (2015).

From TCM's website...
Promo video for itFor our seventh season, we're partnering with Criterion to tell the complete story of Stanley Kubrick. Stanley traces his journey from a curious Bronx teenager, first inspired by a camera gifted to him by his father, to a visionary director who redefined the art of filmmaking. Across his career, Kubrick pushed boundaries, challenged censorship, and pursued an uncompromising level of creative control that shaped landmark films including Lolita, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, and Eyes Wide Shut. With revealing new interviews and never-before-heard archival audio, including a newly uncovered interview with Stanley Kubrick himself, Stanley brings listeners behind the scenes of Kubrick’s creative process, capturing the obsessive precision, artistic ambition, and unforgettable imagery that cemented his legacy as one of the most influential filmmakers in history.
Stanley, an eleven-episode limited series podcast, starts September 24.
