Why are people suddenly guessing Hitler: A Film From Germany in the past few months? Was something hinted somewhere?

Wishing it into existence… and hoping the US screening leads to something more.

Shoplifters had an unceremonious Blu-ray release from Magnolia last year.

How did this happen? No one picked it up in 7 years and then it gets slapped on to an MOD BD-25 with only dts 5.1 (UK disc at least has lpcm 2.0 too) and no extras just to ensure that we never get a Kore-eda box, at least not in the US. The only contemporary Japanese director that gets my non-cinephile friends excited to see anything by and yet his films don't get released on disc with any consistency or quality? Makes no sense.

I think Magnolia always had Shoplifters, they just never bothered to release it on Blu-ray.

Magnolia is the worst. I had emailed them years ago asking if they were releasing Shoplifters on Blu-ray. The response was no plans but it’s on DVD. 🙄

We’re really overdue for more Sam Fuller.

Eight Men Out is just gorgeous. I’d be happy with any Sayles, including the very neglected Amigo, his Philippine-American War film

It is so bizarre that the Savages is still stuck in DVD only worldwide, so I hope you’re at least partially correct

I'm hoping that it's a friend of Bressionaire, because that's the first small box I would want in it's entirety (and not just one title from) in a long time.

Manifesting the following until we get them:

Histoire(s) du cinema (Godard)
Four Nights of a Dreamer (Bresson)
Diary of a Country Priest (Bresson) 4K Upgrade (made more likely by my recent purchase of the DVD after finally giving up on this ever coming back in print)
Secret Agent (Hitchcock)
Mr. Arkadin (Welles) 4K Upgrade

It's been a minute since I've asked this but are the guesses here based on anything or just personal opinions
