Funny to see this get a UHD, when Shout had it they released it as a site exclusive limited (1500 copies) edition.

More OOP based on previously being in the "While Supplies Last" sale and now no longer appearing on the website (aside from the previously posted list of titles that were removed 04/30/2026).

Weird, I thought Blown Away was a relatively new license

Miracle Mile being n/a makes me hope that Arrow got it for both territories and at least upgrade to a new BD if not a UHD.
Edit: never mind, apparently KL are going to relicence all of those where possible

No, I had opened a few threads I wanted to read different tabs. After writing that post, I moved onto this thread, saw thebatman97080's post, linked to my other post, and then realized several new posts had come in here since I had originally opened the tab.

DVDBeaver posted screencaps for Bend In The River.

The blu ray re-do is a head scratcher - the underlying restoration is clearly very good, but it's rendered in 1080p. To my eye, it's not a significant step up in quality from the previous disc. Only a more accurate color grading..

I remember some long shots having registration issues that didn't show up in the restoration when I saw it screened at MoMA. I sold my Blu-ray soon after in anticipation of the upgrade, so I can't revisit it, but I think the worst ones were daytime shots when the ship was docked and waiting for its cargo. (That's kind of a long stretch, but it's in the front half of the film.)

I think it's an appreciable upgrade and no one in the UK has bothered with this film in all this time so thank you to Kino for reissuing it again. This is what MoC should be going after instead of Apache and Rio Lobo.

You know your 90s movie is mid when even Kino won't release it on 4K.

I’ve seen a lot of people on Blu-ray.com requesting that title. Make of that what you will…

The problem with those releases were the old scans, not the films, IMO (though Bend of the River is better).

Is the MoC release of Apache not from the newer master that Kino Lorber had access to for their release?

Somebody at Kino Lorber really loves Fred Schepisi, but I wish we were getting his Australian films like The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith or Eye of the Storm instead.

IQ was a favorite of mine as a kid. A low-key, charming movie that I’m not sure would hold much interest to me today.

Italo-crime
Coming in August!
Brand New UHD SDR Masters – From 4K Scans of the 35mm Original Camera Negatives!

This three-film collection includes three action-packed Italo-Crime classics. The Counsellor (1973) – Martin Balsam (The Taking of Pelham One Two Three) and Tomás Milián (The Big Gundown) blast the opposition in this crime saga from director Alberto De Martino (The Antichrist). When the godson (Milián) of the San Francisco syndicate boss (Balsam) asks permission to leave “the business,” Don Antonio agrees, but reluctantly. Such behavior by either man violates “the code,” and triggers a bloody mob war with underboss Garofalo (Francisco Rabal, Sorcerer). Blazing Magnum (1976) – When his sister is poisoned at a party, hardened Canadian cop Tony Saitta (Stuart Whitman, Sands of the Kalahari) embarks on a violent investigation that turns into a shocking whirlpool of revenge and betrayal. Featuring one of the decade’s greatest car chases and an arsenal of plot twists, this blend of fast-paced action film and tough police procedural from director Alberto De Martino. Weapons of Death (1977) – Leonard Mann’s (Cut and Run) hard-bitten cop goes up against Henry Silva’s (The Boss) flamboyant death-dealer in this blazing Italo-Crime gem. The action-packed thriller plunges the viewer into a Neapolitan cesspool of crime, as dogged Inspector Belli (Mann) and his task force fight against kingpin Salvatore Santoro (Silva), a stony-faced maniac who orchestrates a string of brutal robberies and insane car chases and massacres any cop, gangster or innocent bystander who gets in his way. Directed by Mario Caiano (Violent Milan) as a spin-off to Umberto Lenzi’s aptly titled Violent Naples. This special edition also includes Shadows in an Empty Room, the alternate cut of Blazing Magnum, originally released by the legendary American International Pictures studio.

NOTE: All three films will also be released on standalone Blu-rays.

Bonus features and other details will be announced soon

Watched it and you were right. I thought their Dark Side sets were stretching the "noir" categorization but this second French set is really scraping (and I say that as somebody that liked the first set).
