I'm so pleased that they're drawing attention to the work of the "technical" awards with these extended introductions, but this show is going to be 5 hours long.

same, I'm glad they're getting the love they deserve, but we're in for a long night. an hour in and we've only given out four awards

Inshallah - Sean Baker is such a lovely guy. In person, too. Just a peach.

I adore how Baker continues to draw attention to sex workers. Good for him.

Feels like a Moore win is inevitable now, if the last few years are any indication.

agree completely. I went overzealous guessing it to win screenplay, but given the movie got this many nominations and not just a best actress spot for Moore, it seems like she's a shoe in to win. especially with that recognition

It's possible, but this is also a case where everyone knows The Substance has body horror effects, so I could see folks throwing it this Oscar as a bone too and not voting Moore. At least I feel like it's less predictive than the past few years

Bezos must’ve paid through the nose for this years-late Bond snoozefest

It's especially ironic that this is a dual tribute to the Broccolis, considering they have relinquished their control of Bond to Amazon; feels a little like throwing a party with the family dog before you put it down

Indeed, and it’s also giving me old-school Oscar vibes too.

Now that we've seen who has won in lead roles, I wonder what supporting performances are going to be awarded.

Congrats to the real winner of this year’s Oscars - that’s right, Thierry Fremaux!

Nice to see a ceremony where they’re not taking snarky takes on what they’re celebrating.
