Halfway pre-order titles include:

A Blade In The Dark (Lamberto Bava, 1983)

The Boogeyman (Uli Lommel, 1980)

Villages Of The Damned: Three Horrors From Spain Box:
- El Bosque Del Lobo (Forest Of The Wolf) (Pedro Olea, 1970)
- Los Flores Del Vicio (The Sky Is Falling) (Silvio Narizzano, 1975)
- Beatriz (Gonzalo Suarez, 1976)

and some movie I've never heard of called Showgirls (The Flying Dutchman, 1995) :P

Two more titles have yvette to be revealed, but one that was teased with a banner illustration is most likely Spermula (Charles Matton, 1976).

Also, From Beyond has not been restocked......so far? ](*,)

this might be the first time I actually do a halfway preorder. Spermula and Showgirls are almost making the whole bundle worth it

I'm pretty sure the 2nd title is not Spermula, because VS' tease says it is "making its world BD and UHD debut." Spermula has a French Blu-ray that was released 5 years ago.

It's such a horrible slip cover (and VS being VS), I had to check if it was another movie called Showgirls.

They should have gotten Kyle MacLachlan to participate in a new interview in his Mr C persona so Kyle can claim it wasn't him in the movie.

It's a perfectly fine slipcover to me. I'm just thankful I don't care about covers that much (unless it's something that I find truly shit like the Blackhat cover) since I realize they will just be sitting on the shelf.

Since it's a VSU release, that will be the box cover. The slipcover is inside!

That’s… not how a slipcover works.

Showgirls is a nice non-surprise. I'm hoping they get to other on-brand speculated titles soon, like Ms 45

These use typical VS packaging (plastic case in a thick cardboard slip) and add a book in a sturdy box that locks shut with magnets, and even includes a classy ribbon to allow easier access to the book at the bottom of the box. Example:

Ms.45 would be great; has there been any indication that VS has the rights to this and/or that they're working on it?

I don't believe so, but it's been OOP for a while and VS seems to scoop up and release most films speculated as within their wheelhouse - maybe they're willing to pony up a higher budget of cash for rights since they sell for such high prices and seem to always make a profit in their safe market/fanbase?

I don’t follow VS close enough to remember how they work… Will something like Showgirls eventually get a cheaper standard UHD release?

If Beastmaster is any indication, I think if the deluxe box eventually sells out, they may then offer an edition that loses the box and book and costs $10 less

Doesn't seem like this is an LE, so I imagine it'll just be in print in this form like Cloak & Dagger, right? And I'm guessing that it'll bump up to that film's price by like $5 permanently after this pre-order?

I'm reading all the VSU titles as LEs, but most are nowhere near selling out like Beastmaster has. They all show a stock counter with over 1000 titles left. I assume Showgirls doesn't have one yet because it's a just announced pre-order

You are correct. But at least I have all this hype to thank for introducing me to Spermula! And apologies to those that never wanted to know this film existed.

Still hurts my head to figure out whatever this banner image was teasing, unless it's one of the two secret titles:
Spoiler
Image
First up, making its world UHD and BD debut is a cheery regional slasher with an impressive array of creative killings, finally presented as its makers wanted it to be seen (along with its distributor mandated released version).

The first is a late 80s slasher made far from Hollywood, both literally and figuratively which is hitting both BD and UHD for the first time, featuring a never before seen "original" cut.

And, perhaps even more exciting, one of the craziest films from a director legendary for his decades worth of cinematic insanity at last hits UHD and BD; a feat which was years in the making but completely worth the wait.

The second is a real neck snapper from one of the kings of genre filmmaking, also making its world BD and UHD debut. Both offer tremendous entertainment from beginning to end and have been exclusively scanned and restored by VS from their original camera negatives and are mind-blowingly packed with extras.
Cheerleader Camp (1988) & Gymkata (1985)? I know I'll probably be wrong, but maybe the new VS publishing imprint will finally reissue a steelbook edition Byron Coley's definitive biography of Chuck Norris, to soften the blow, instead?

As much as I’d like to own the Showgirls release, I’m still not 4K-equipped and don’t think I can bring myself to buy it for a fourth (or fifth) time. (Can’t remember if I had the laserdisc.)

I highly doubt it would be Gymkata, since outside a couple films, Robert Clouse isn’t truly held in genre iconography and we just had a VSU which is definitely what Gymkata would become given it’s status. Honestly in my belief, could be a Ken Russell film, he was one of the most famous cinematic mentals of all time and the fact this is being held off could indicate a major release, years in the making could also be for the X Rated cut of The Devils considering Warner’s holding off a release, though it’s also likely it could be Salome’s Last Dance, Lisztomania, The Rainbow or less likely Savage Messiah. Just thoughts but I truly hope they’re accurate ones. Thank you for reading.

P.S. Crimes of Passion or Mahler would have been here but are not included for different reasons.

I know non-boutique Verhoeven blus are typically stacked already, but VS is pretty dependable to deliver a bunch of new content that’ll make it worth a quadruple dip

Couldn't remember who released the old DVD, and it was Warner.

Never thought I'd see a Greenaway with Severin (Drowning By Numbers), whom I'd file in close company to Ken Russell, at least in terms of label interest/niche market drive (i.e. I am still buying their old OOP DVDs, today, easily). But I can't recall any "neck snapping" in any of the few Russell films I've seen (I can only guess!). And then with The Devils we're back with Warners! These asinine VS clues are always inevitably written in the worst of ways, but I suppose that's what keeps those slips slippin slippin slippin'.

Also, if you're patient, there's a small subculture of VS (& other boutique labels) buyers who always dump their unwatched blu-rays on eBay and keep the 4ks. Unfortunately, most are quite obviously psychopaths who try to sell those blus for $30, but persistence will usually prevail in your favor.
