was about to post but then see that Bressonaire confirms Criterion will beat BFI to Targets..anyway I'm just gonna make mine a wishlist at this point, they're sitting on like 50 interesting titles we know are forthcoming, but we'll see maybe one of those.

I think confirm is misleading. When Bogdanovich died a few months ago, I remembered all the work he'd done for Criterion over the years, and I suspected that they might release another film of his as a sort of tribute. Others are guessing films of his too, and I didn't want to repeat their guesses. I've only been accumulating bits and pieces from the slim pickings of clues that are out there.

I know, I was ribbing you. I would love to see Targets, Last Picture Show, or Paper Moon come as 4Ks personally. you're spot on about there being no clues or no leads, you're kinda the best we get at the moment

And BTW, Aventurera is a film I saw 25 years ago at Film Forum and had forgotten the name of till I stumbled on it recently. It's a hoot, but it's a very long shot.

14 views on letterboxd, if Criterion go for it at present, that'll be their most obscure release since The Inland Sea probably. maybe one of the WCF titles

Well, as I remember it, Aventurera was a really loopy film, but it might have an importance to Mexican cinema that would justify it. I'm just unaware if that's the case. There are Juan Bustillo Oro films mentioned in Will Noah's piece a couple years ago that (although I haven't seen them) would seem more likely. And I guess I could have fallen back on my wish for Nine Queens.
