rather wishes than speculation :

- Comment je me suis disputé... (ma vie sexuelle) (the WEB 1080 based on the Eclair restoration (already old : 2014! but really it looks just fine)
- La Maman et la Putain (fortunately the gray-scale of the 4K restoration is so-so like it happens sometimes)
- Walkabout UHD+Blu-Ray 4K
- La Naissance des Pieuvres (German Blu-Ray is based on a 4K restoration), so why not an UHD+Blu-Ray ?
- Lady Chatterley et l'homme des bois (both cuts) + Bird People (available on blu-ray in France) : Pascale Ferran deserve to be in the Criterion collection (there is the lovely Anaïs Demoustier and David Bowie!)
- After Hours UHD (perhaps my favorite Martin Scorsese now with Raging Bull, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas)- and talking about Linda Fiorentino :
- The Last Seduction (the BR release is so poor due to bad compression, please rescue this "neo-noir" movie (this is the best one with Body Heat)
- Millenium Mambo (UHD+Blu-Ray) : I'm a bit afraid about the restoration : I have downloaded on the web site the trailer HD and even the DMC : there is a lack of definition and even "poterisation" on the HD trailer (but, well, that's just an HD trailer)
- La Fille à la Valise (real HD restoration as strong as "I Knew Her Very Well"; not the HDTV-like bootleg Spanish BR)

oh - And sure, the Rohmer box set "Contes des Quatre Saisons" [-o< unless Arrow plans to release it ?

Didn't Scorpion-releasing state that the original elements for this were unobtainable? Pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that they were in two minds about scrapping their release because the end results weren't up to scratch, despite years of searching, but then decided to put it out, warts and all.

The prior DVD was so horrendous and barebones that there was no way to go but up. The special features make it worthwhile, as Scorpion really did a fantastic job with it

I don't think Criterion is combing through releases to stay ultra-PC in defending against any backlash or anything, and I doubt this would stir up a ton of controversy, but in an age where networks pull episodes of Community and 30 Rock for interpretations of blackface without contextualizing them, the finale of The Last Seduction may read as problematic if people are tone-deaf about the femme fatale trope since
Spoiler
a woman tricks a man into aggressive sex and sets him up as raping her, treating him as the victim in the end

I have the Network BR UK release which has some really nice bonus.
The thing is that there is something obviously wrong with the encoding/compression (not the restoration which looks damned good) : a lot of smoking scene ( ) in the bar, etc... have some macro blocs or compression artefacts.
Hence, the rescue of a new release. I had some hopes in the US BR release, but it's exactly the same transfer as the Network release.

and what about "Stars At Noon" by Claire Denis ? Any chance to see it in the Criterion collection ? It's as bad as "Let The Sunshine In" and not as good as "White Material" or "L'Intrus".
But, I have a huge crush for Margaret Qualley  (and even Tarantino's feet club fetishist will find some most satisfying scene in this movie than in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - I much more into's Truffaut fetishism (l'homme qui aimait les femmes).
Then, I kind of love the jazzy music which makes me think of Soft Machine IV (kind of...) - So I bought the soundtrack.
The plot was weak near the end... but the use of Covid masks and the romance, road movie and this kind of strange atmosphere was pleasant to say the least.
