They're just trying to let us believe for as long as possible that they would actually release both Rivette and A Brighter Summer Day.

I don't care for any Rivette unless it's "L'amour fou" Or, okay, a watchable version of "Jeanne la Pucelle".

Anyone notice the slight site redesign? I think that's likely what the issue is...

You're talking about the addition of "Current Posts," etc on the main page? I believe it's been that way from the beginning of the week at least.

Yeah, I thought the advent of the quarantined "even more pointless speculation than usual" guessing thread would have at least kept the hand-wringing "the announcement about the new releases is ten minutes late! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!" posts quarantined as well. But we can't have everything.

EDIT: Help! How did I get in here! Where's the exit?!

i think it's an example that the macro block compression artifact is baked into the film element and there's nothing they can do about it. ;)

And placing it almost exactly at the vanishing point of the image adds to the existential intrigue, I guess...

The construction of the giant Dustin Hoffman statue inside the walkway of Criterion headquarters is draining all of their time and resources.

It's three times life size, which is roughly six feet tall.

I know it's a no-no on the forum, but I think this warrants a hearty ell-oh-ell. Or maybe a ho-ho-ho.

All those delays were so Jon Mulvaney could work on getting Jaleel White and Reginald VelJohnson together in the same room to sign off on :::::::::::kogonothankyouada:::::::'s new conceptual piece, "The Matters of Family". A Brighter Summer Day has been delayed indefinitely as a result of resources already being allotted.

Put this in the "adjust schedules accordingly" category. January 15 falls on a Friday. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr day here in the States. So, going by past trends we will get January announcements on Tuesday the 19.
