The fact that she deleted her letterboxd account is hilarious.
Like, that's something that could potentially make you seem interesting, or even cool.
That said, she is the most basic white woman on the planet so, par for the course.
I mean... Margot Robbie is famous, so she's at least
slightly interesting than most other basic white women.
oops, I made a mistake and thought it was Greta who deleted her account. Still, a very lame thing to do, but Margot's too hot to care so it don't matter.

As someone who took every every course in the Film Studies department of my alma mater, trust me, touting a Letterboxd is anything but a first-class ticket to coolness
I know a lot of you hate on letterboxd (shocking, I know) but I think it's great. Cool, lame or otherwise, it's very entertaining.
Why would you take every course in a film studies program? How did no one try to stop you?

As someone who does use Letterboxd (mostly for logging, I don't write anything on there), I have first-hand experience on how much it improves your social standing*.
*(The answer is zero, by the way; big far goose egg).

Entertaining, I'll grant you. Cool or interesting, I will not.
And because there weren't that many of them and I was guaranteed an A in every single one. I didn't even get a film minor out of it (only because I didn't bother to), but I did a lot of formative reading and bumped up my GPA, so what's not to like

The neon outfits from the recent pictures have been a strong source of amusement

This hasn't been confirmed yet but more set photos seem to reveal that Rodrigo Prieto will be the DP of this.

Interesting. I wonder if Gerwig wants to work with a different DP every film; personally, I really liked Le Saux's work on Little Women and would have been happy to see him take the reins here.

Are the constant paparrazzi shots of this film deliberate promotion or something? Unfortunarely, it's starting to make me a little sick of this movie and it hasn't even finished filming yet.

It's famously difficult to attract paps or curious observers to the shoot of a blockbuster film in a large public park featuring two of the most high-profile actors in the country

Is this a blockbuster? What's the budget?

People really have their knives out already for this Barbie movie, huh?

A few I guess. Most people who have taken stock of the talent involved seem pretty excited about it from what I've seen.

I'm looking forward to it! I just think it's really gotten overexposed on social media lately.

It's just
a couple whiners on social media who are mad that "so much" of this movie has been filmed in the public eye (which is to say, they did 4 days of location shooting after at least 3 months of studio work). In an online landscape dominated by freakishly devoted fans of actors, works, or intellectual properties (among which the aforementioned whiners reside), the argument that a highly anticipated movie is receiving
too much free publicity is both unusual and unconvincing.

Hey, a Barbie movie where Hari Nef is a version of Barbie feels like it has the potential to be quite inspired and that alone is selling my ticket.
In other news, Hari Nef went to my high school, after I left but my sister knew her from theatre (back when she was Harry Nef, pre-transition) when my sister was a senior and Nef was a freshmen. In other other news, she’s stellar in Assassination Nation, which touches on some themes I expect the Barbie movie to also touch on

The first teaser trailer is premiering before many (but seemingly not all) Avatar: The Way of Water screenings.

Ugh, basically the type of lazy parody I'd expect from SNL. I hope it's just a teaser and not in the movie proper.

Moonage Daydream, this... it will take a monolith for us to evolve beyond the 2001-references.

I too thought the parody was a little lazy but have to admit the girl smashing the doll's head did get a laugh from me. This looks intriguing.

It's fun. Don't worry, I'm sure the next teaser will have Barbie making a meatloaf in real time.

Full Trailer - revealing a lot of talent I had no idea would be in this, but may be cameos who happen to receive billing cred

Gosling is by far the best part of that, incredible production design notwithstanding
