PANDORA'S BOX Blu, yeah right.
I'm thinking the THREE COLORS UHD will be announced for the month of November, unless they've got something even bigger in the works for the Pre-Christmas Rush.
it would mark exactly 11 years to the month that
Three Colors was released in the BD box. definitely lean towards that being a November title, as I don't see it getting an "exhaustive box" this year, as much as...

The Complete Film Works of Pier Paolo Pasolini
which
would be totally awesome. I just think we would've heard at least some murmurs by now, but it totally could still happen. I think the best we can hope for in 2021 is seeing Kinuyo Tanaka's films being released as a box, which would nicely see Criterion change their usual practice of rolling out titles one at a time over a decade or so (poor Juzo Itami!)
anyway, my picks:
Cure UHD
The Trial UHD
Millennium Mambo UHD*
Winchester '73
Atlantics
Jigoku BD will be this year's token "slap a DVD master on a BD" Halloween upgrade - I wanted to guess a
Diary of a Chambermaid return but this is more likely...
Eric Rohmer's
Tales of the Four Seasons box
I predict David Lynch fans will be very angry - I'd be surprised if
Lost Highway releases before
Inland Empire, which already basically got confirmed for 2023. I'm sure they'll complain they got "shut out" or whatever
*-extremely wishful thinking on my part for the UHD part, but I do ultimately think Criterion will release the film

My actual predictions:
Cure (BD)
Lost Highway (UHD)
Atlantics (UHD)
The Complete Films of Kinuyo Tanaka (BD)
*insert BD of Czech film already released by Second Sight*

My Sex Life... or How I Got into an Argument/Kings & Queen
Rohmer Four Seasons box
Cure UHD
Lost Highway UHD

I'll be very surprised if Criterion just let Pasolini's centenery pass without a release of some sort. It may well just be a release of Accattone or an upgrade of Mamma Roma but I'd like to think they're working on something bigger - there's a question mark over Oedipus Rex and Medea, but the rest of his features are known to be with Criterion.

I would assume we'll first see a North American theatrical run for
Mamma Roma and
Accatone (both of which are screening in France this month) before we see Criterion announcements for these titles or any combination thereof, right? There's still a chance both a theatrical run and an announcement could happen before the end of the year, in time to mark Pasolini's centenary.

Agreed, same logic applies here. Some rep theaters are not even getting the new restoration of
Lost Highway until September. Seems unlikely that a Criterion Blu-ray release would follow that quickly. I, too, have a hunch we'll see
Inland Empire first.

who owns
Oedipus Rex and
Medea? someone with the MOC and BFI releases can probably give a pretty quick word here - I can't imagine they're like the Fellini scenario where you have Kino, Cohen, et al standing in the way of a complete set. I'd definitely be all in on a Pasolini set, I really enjoyed
Mamma Roma and want to revisit the 70s films but have seen absolutely nothing else, so the timing couldn't be better if they brought it out. the fact that we haven't seen any releases from his filmography in some time is an encouraging sign I think, and Criterion has been fairly active about him on social media, even with some directors praising him in recent closet visits and such.

Inland Empire was known first and from what I gather is in more pressing need (
Lost Highway was at least in print on BD) of a disc release, so I definitely lean towards that being a February/March title to go alongside a flash sale or something.
anyone speculative of this should see the wait from "Janus theatrical run" to "disc release" has been pretty lengthy lately - look no further at
Cure which we're all guessing for this month. one of the only exceptions was
Mississippi Masala which I saw in theatres in April and it was a May release, but I think Mira Nair had plenty to do with that.

Second Run! and I'm sure the next one up will be
Ikarie XB-1, and I'm sure they'll dig up some super cool supplement that will get me to double dip, like they have with all the other releases...at least they get introduced to a broader audience in the States though, as they deserve. I've guessed that particular title the last few months and decided not to this time for whatever reason, but it probably is pretty likely. I'm wondering if Criterion will include the full length dubbed version
Voyage to the End of the Universe, and what scholarly supplement they'll go for. the British labels love Kim Newman but Criterion rarely goes for him, so I'd be surprised to see if his interview gets ported over.

Neither should be out of Criterion's reach, but as far as I'm aware they're the only two that haven't been confirmed to be with Criterion. Medea was last released by Sony. I assume Oedipus Rex is with the Italian rightsholder Compass Film (who also own Accattone, The Hawks and the Sparrows, The Gospel According to St. Matthew, and Porcile)

I'll hold out hope then, feels like we have a decent shot.
a few people have guessed
Night of the Living Dead 4K in this thread and it appears that got taken and ran with, first as a "rumor" and then as a "new title announcement" elsewhere (I don't feel the need to link the non-credible sites that reported it). weird stuff going on, if it does happen it'll be pure coincidence I think.

In re: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD -- I'm not sure there'd be enough of an upgrade in bouncing it to 4K UHD, considering the source material. I'll be glad to be proven wrong, but can it look that much better than it does on that splendid BluRay? I'll wait for the reviews, I guess.

I’m gonna exclude Cure from my guesses simply because I’ve guessed it so many times in the past that of course it’s going to be announced the one time I don’t guess it (and yes, I know they typically release a horror film in October, so it makes all the sense in the world that it will finally be announced this time, I just don’t want to jinx it).
Having said that:
Videodrome (4K upgrade)
Ugetsu (4K upgrade)
Dog Day Afternoon
The Wind Will Carry Us
Early Pasolini box set (all or most of his films pre-Teorema)

Are you referring to the U.S. Blu? I don't have it in hand, but images of the packaging online make no mention of Sony, even though Amazon and some other sources have them down as the studio. The back cover reads "Manufactured and Distributed by Entertainment One U.S. LP" and has a logo and copyright for the SNC/Société nouvelle de cinématographie, which is now part of the Groupe M6 conglomerate. Is there anything on the disc itself (either the label or the contents) that points to Sony as the U.S. rightsholder? If it's reverted to the SNC (possible since the disc is OOP), then Criterion might be able to license it, since they've worked with them before. Criterion doesn't seem to have ever licensed anything from Entertainment One, but they were formerly Criterion's Canadian distributor, so there is a previous relationship of sorts.
