since i probably wont be partaking in this, any idea if these coupons will again expire before the next likely flash sale? (mine expires 4/19/27)

I'm going to sit this one out because I don't have enough titles to hit the $75 free shipping threshold and am reluctant to buy older Blurays for fear they'll get upgraded on top of the mediocre encoding. Plus, I have a B&N $75 gift card so I'm going to get Secret Agent and Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors UHDs plus the Fuller BD set next month instead. Both the Fuller and Kubrick are released today so should be included in the sale.

MifuneFan pointed out over at the Blu-ray.com forum that Criterion has lowered the free shipping threshold to $74.

If you don't review the set by Christmas, you get kicked off Letterboxd.

And there's already reports of scratched discs in the set from folks who got their copies early. Best inspect your discs immediately. Happy shopping everyone once you get in.

I tried loading up my cart after midnight again, but this time when I logged it was empty & it was really slow to add items. I then had to spend time changing quantities because a few items had more than 1 because I pressed the "add to cart" button more than once when there had been no response. More difficult this time than last.

Yes, this was my worst experience by far for trying to buy discs during a flash sale (continual crashing during the first seven or so minutes of the sale). Knowing I wasn't going to attempt to purchase the Kubrick set this time around, I walked away, enjoyed lunch, and came back forty minutes later when I had no problems getting what I wanted.

The Kubrick box is not listed among the sale's best sellers, but Dr. Strangelove, Eyes Wide Shut, and Barry Lyndon are. The only new release I see has sold out is Harlan County USA!

Weirdly, I got a Criterion Channel coupon but no Criterion store coupon, despite ordering from the store a few times in the past year when it made sense.

In spite of my misgivings (already owning all the 4K titles save for Lolita, minimal transfer differences from what I can tell, concern about the packaging, etc) I ordered the damn Kubrick set.

I have a new strategy to only buy things once they've been out & reviewed & had sufficient time to identify problems, rather than buying them on the next sale after release. That way there's also always titles in my wishlist & can put together enough for free shipping and use up the coupons each sale.
