This is kind of mean, but my first thought when I read Schrader's post about how impressed he was at the "ideas" for films generated by AI was that his last few scripts read a lot like what an AI might produce should you have fed it scripts by Paul Schrader.

I don't recall if this site has a rule against AI in posts, even if it's acknowledged, but I asked Gemini to pitch me some ideas for future Paul Schrader films and I'm not sure if I could distinguish these fakes from the real, unintentionally self-parodic summaries of e.g. Master Gardener. See for example:

The Arbitrageur
A high-frequency commodity trader operating from a dark basement apartment in Chicago manipulates agricultural futures, disconnected from the physical reality of the food supplies he trades. Regardless of the plausibilty of such a statement, the fact that he made such a statement publicly indicates a level of cluelessness that doesn't bode well for his project, much less the fact that he's alienating people before the film is even completed. He'll need a really good PR firm to sell his film now.

As you note there’s plenty of “valueless” comments across the threads. I don’t think this one is egregious. I think it’s shameful how much support and press Schrader still gets. The prestige and holiness accorded to art and art-making is a bunker for racist and misogynistic men to hide in, and it’s the only reason we still hear from Schrader who spends his days chumming with prolific rapist James Toback and trying to underpay specifically female assistants to do shit work.

It was a glib remark but I stand by it for the reasons HinkyDinkyTruesmith outlines. I love a lot of Schrader movies but there’s no reason at this point to provide cover and respect for, at best, a racist and misogynist troll (indeed not unlike many of his characters). I would hope I’ve posted here enough and thoughtfully enough that I wouldn’t be accused of singlehandedly lowering the intelligence of this forum, and I think that the deference to and walking-on-eggshells with shitty men who’ve made great movies is more of an issue here than any gallows one-liner could be.
