Aug. 26, 2026 update from Milestone Films:

"The last reel is still missing despite a new FIAF search done. It will be a 4K digital transfer from an earlier negative with much cleanup and scratch removal. It won't be perfect because of the nitrate damage, but it will look significantly better. Much like Queen Kelly."

Cyankali, Tintner, Germany 1930, 2K DCP; web browser translation:
"World premiere of the digitally restored version, which is based on the original 35 mm image negative and the original 35 mm optical negative (both nitrate). The image negative has gaps, caused by admission-related cuts and edits of the film in the course of its archive history. In terms of sound, four of the original ten roles are missing, which could not be supplemented despite intensive research. The digitization was funded by the Film Heritage Funding Program (FFE). The missing musical passages will be set to music live by cellist Paul Rittel during the performance."
