Hopefully they'll restore the fog filter effect, which is missing on their Blu-ray, but I have a feeling it's baked into the grading of the master, so I'll hold on to my copy of the Arrow Blu-ray just to be safe.

I had a good chuckle at seeing them raise the price of the clearance movies too. This company succeeds because of the volume of releases and customer patience measured in direct proportion to how cheap they are. Raise the prices more and see where that gets you, bros

Why did he ask them that?

I assume it had to do with all the expired licenses recently and the fact that they didn't have it under control beforehand, which is crazy as MGM are quite lax.

Not sure what triggered asking such a question, but this account is by a crappy person anyway.

It's a rude question to ask so bluntly for sure, but if you want to shut down any doubts, you engage with it professionally, not just block the person or it makes people think there's truth to it.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the new price increases do gut them. One of the reasons why a handful of people were fine buying KL discs is due to the fact that they were cheap, while acknowledging they're lower quality, especially compared to most of the other major labels.

Counterpoint: that's an insane question to ask and the Insider was right to block them. "Is your business going to fail" is a trollish question that doesn't dignify a response. These labels aren't even in a position to reply to questions like "will you release X" and you think they are going to post sensitive financial information on a message board?

MGM licenses going in and out isn't anything new, I've lost track of how many of their titles have gone out of print from ClassicFlix, Shout, and Vinegar Syndrome. Criterion and Arrow tend to go for longer terms or are always quietly renewing them. Kino tends to have more they aren't renewing and I can't blame them for not wanting to put more money into keeping the 80s Babes in Toyland in print. I also suspect some titles like the UA Lesters are going to end up somewhere else in 4K (doesn't seem to be a coincidence that all of the MGM-owned titles are now out of print)
