This reminds me of Wim Wenders preferring the English title “Wings of Desire” to the literal translation “The Sky Over Berlin.” I respectfully disagree with him, both because the Berlin setting is such an integral part of the film and because the expression “Wings of Desire” just makes no sense to me.

I've always thought Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (Angst essen Seele auf) was awkward, Live Flesh (Carne trémula) was inaccurate, and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (¡Átame!) was too verbose and against the film's tone.

I have always hated the full title and like many others always drop everything after the colon when referring to it. Though it does differentiate it from others of the same name, I can’t recall what they may have been. An IMDB search has turned up nothing with just the single word Precious, so it’s not like it was taken already. Maybe they wanted an excuse to name drop the author.
Doesn't that have the even longer title "Precious: Base on Nol By Saf (Based on the novel "Push" by Sapphire)"
