I hope someone releases Long Voyage Home soon, that's easily my favorite outstanding WB Ford film that's not on Blu-ray, much less UHD, and the ending alone is one of my favorites from Ford.

I've never understood the appeal of slipcases. It's just one more step to actually getting the disc out & in your player (and an annoying one at that) and easily subjected to wear and tear.

Last Summer was released when drive-ins were a big thing in the midst of the boomer gen getting wheels and getting laid and buying LP's. Made of cardboard. A big chunk of physical medial sales for old movies is pure nostalgia for the older gens.

Slipcovers can be fun, I don’t think it’s much more serious than that. I can’t deny, as annoying as they were to deal with, that the hefty slipcovers used by Vinegar Syndrome and associated labels were quite luxurious. For one that looks nice, I’d pay a few bucks more. I’d also know I could charge a few bucks more if I ever needed to resell it too

I totally agree with that. Slipcovers (cardboard) showing great images are much more striking visually than paper hidden behind a sheet of plastic wrap. I was just responding to why Last Summer of all movies is the first cardboard slip WA Blu. Just a guess on WA thinking. It could be random. Who knows?

The Radiance Cutter's Way slipcase is basically indestructible. Dependent, of course, on access to children!

I'm with Lowry_Sam. I discard them into the re-cycling bin. Although I did keep one,He Who Gets Slapped from Flicker Alley. It' s beautiful. Looks like a piece of art

I can see repurposing them if they are a truly great image, but if it's the case that they are a good image, then they will be torn & dinged with each time you want to watch them or reorganize your collection. If there's something I'm willing to pay extra for, it's the ltd. steelbooks that Masters Of Cinema/Eureka released back in the day. It's a shame no one releases anything like that anymore (most steelbooks now are just plain ugly).

I think the slipcovers for Out of the Past and Auntie Meme look better than the other theatrical posters WAC picked for the keepcase covers. I normally bin slipcovers but I'll be keeping the Out of the Past one.

Start the Revolution Without Me is great fun, spoofing costume dramas, swashbucklers, and Victorian literature with an array of shenanigans that deliver many tiny laughs. The humor is interesting - the gags don't land with a deliberate pronunciation - the punchlines kind of slide by breezily evoking weirder humor. Sometimes there's a thoroughly crafted joke, but usually the comedy is in the small details, like the pitch of the king's voice changing. The narrative itself is so convoluted that at a certain point I just gave up on following along and surrendered to the flow. It's a very strange movie that's all over the place, but the hastily pasted-together sequences typically work. Unfortunately Sutherland is often lost in the shuffle, not receiving many opportunities to demonstrate his comedic chops, but Wilder consistently kills as expected. This is a bizarre, messy farce, whose internal logic is so surreal that I'm not sure I was ever able to fully lock in, but I think I loved it despite and in part because of this offbeat energy - like a precursor to the alternative comedy that would launch decades later. It's rare to see a movie that surprises you constantly, so it's possible I'm giving it extra points for achieving such success. I wouldn't be surprised if anybody walked away hating this, but I thought it ruled

Torrid Zone is awesome - a very funny and exciting adventure pic with gorgeous camerawork and whip-smart dialogue that blares humor and charm. Cagney, Sheridan, and O'Brien all bring their A-game in crafting well-drawn characters worth investing in, as do all the bit players who are offered plenty of fat to chew on, particularly George Tobias who steals scenes as the outlaw Rosario. The atmosphere of a Central America plantation feels lived-in despite studio artifice, reminding me a bit of Only Angels Have Wings in that respect. This is a film without much depth but it's right in your face, firing on all cylinders with the surface-level pleasures that cinema offers. The strong direction and acting bring an unbelievably rich script to life, where even a bland running joke like Sheridan's card-cheating plays well each time it comes around again
