Just watched the blu ray. First time I ever watched the film and loved it, an absolutely insane over the top spectacle.
There is definitely a frame or so missing, a very minor jump at 52 minutes.
I found the audio out of sync for most of the film...so just figure that's how the film is.
There is one real issue however: you can't switch audio tracks using your remote mid-film. "Operation blocked by disc" is the error I got when trying to switch from Chinese Mono to English. If I choose a different audio setting at the outset it worked, but not mid-disc. Is this a known issue? Have people seen this before?

I don't know that that's an issue, some discs just work that way

The inability to change audio while watching is how the disc was authored. I think every HK release from Shout is this way, but most of Arrow's aren't, so I have no idea why Arrow authored this that way.

Are the subtitles optional ? If they're forced, that might be the reason.

They are optional. I dont know if they can be turned on or off on the fly because my remote doesn't have a subtitle button.
Both the audio and subtitles can be changed while the film is playing by using the pop up menu.
