I wish people like the Guardian columnist in the link above would stop engaging with this desperate hype campaign, including by getting mad or making fun of it. On the small chance any such film ever does make it off the ground, my guess is that it’ll emerge in such diminished scope that any kind of box-office return will depend entirely on notoriety and hate-watching. So I don’t think the expression “if you ignore them, they’ll go away” has ever been more apt.
