That is seriously frustrating. It’s amazing that stuff like the theatrical cut of Sling Blade isn’t even out in HD
Sling Blade is no longer with Paramount, it is with a company called Red Coral.

Identical Blu-Rays with the Theatrical Cut were released in the US by Miramax, then Lionsgate, then Paramount.

The director's cut was released on Blu-Ray by StudioCanal in the UK.

I recall the film was streaming on the Red Coral website in what appeared to be a different transfer from the Blu-Ray releases, and I think it was the theatrical cut aswell.

TIEFLAND
Blu-ray

In her second film as director, Leni Riefenstahl returned to the mountain settings which had made her a star of German cinema. Tiefland (Lowlands) dramatizes the conflicts between the shepherds on the slopes of the Spanish Pyrenees and the power-hungry Don Sebastian (Bernhard Minetti) who diverts their water to the plains below, in order to feed his cattle. Don Sebastian becomes smitten with Martha, an exotic Spanish dancer (Riefenstahl), and schemes to add her to his menagerie. Martha tries to broker a peace between the cattle baron and the shepherds, but Don Sebastian's greed is insatiable, and a violent confrontation seems inevitable.

Tiefland was filmed in 1932, but the footage was confiscated by Allied forces during World War II. It wasn't until 1954 that Riefenstahl was able to complete the film—in spite of some of the footage having been lost in the interim.

This edition of Tiefland was restored in 4K from the original 35mm negative.

- Audio Commentary by Film Historian Anthony Slide
- Outtakes and Deleted Scenes (98 min.)
Definitely not a film I was expecting, but one on my wishlist for a long time. Over an hour and a half of deleted scenes!

A nice surprise! but too bad it doesn't include the 1980 tv version as a bonus.

Beaver's comparison with Canal as well as the old Kino Blu. The new 4K restoration frames the image a bit differently on all four sides. Overall a very nice presentation!

Wonderful! I know I’ve said this before somewhere but this is an underseen, would-be classic Borzage and the restoration looks great.

I’m surprised they licensed more Borzage considering how much the whined about Bad Girl’s sales and their letting that Dorothy Lamour one go OOP

Terrific announcement, saw this recently and loved it too, especially how well it mixes tones and narrative strands. It’s very accessible and involving on a base level, and I can see it selling quite well (it also has one of the darker final acts I’ve seen in a studio pic!)
