Given some of the 4k/UHDs titles on their roster, I'm surprised this would only get a (new) 2k scan.Talk Radio (1988) NEW HD Master (2K Scan)

Can’t wait for it to be, like, a 4K of Stuart Saves His Family.jt938 wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2026 3:13 am No announcements this weekend but the Insider said they plan to announce their first Paramount title from their new deal next weekend.

Kino did release Ramis’ The Ice Harvest, which I think deserves to become a major cult hit
I’m wondering if it will be Szabo’s Sunshine, considering that they’ve handled many of his films and it finally got a 4K restoration

Going to hold out for one the UK Labels to do it right. Arrow has done a few of the Manns.

Re: Kino Lorber Studio Classics
MoMA screened a DCP of the Bend of the River restoration last year and it is a massive upgrade. I popped in Kino's old Blu-ray when I got home and could see all the problems that were corrected for the restoration. (Registration problems were especially egregious - all fixed in the new restoration.) Sold my Blu-ray that same week in anticipation of this.

Arrow did The Far Country, though that was in the Academy days. The Tin Star more recently, though that was US only, so far.
Eureka did Man of the West and The Man from Laramie.

Right exactly my point. Eureka did a few Mann's over a decade ago, whereas both of the Arrow Manns are more recent, and Tin Star very recent.Maltic wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 6:26 pm Arrow did The Far Country, though that was in the Academy days. Would Kino put "Bend of the River" on 4K UHD if enough of us messaged them asking for it / made a fuss / protested online / begged / pleaded / cajoled?

Re: Kino Lorber Studio Classics
Just looked at my shelf, here’s what I have on DVD not upgraded by anyone yet (Indicator/Via Vision have really winnowed this list down in the last five years), with my best guesses on how plausible KLSC releasing it is:
All the Jerry Lewis titles - I think Paramount intended to do these themselves but then they eventually started licensing to Australian labels, so maybe
Heller in Pink Tights - Maybe given Loren’s involvement
the Lawless - Plausible given they’ve released a lot of other Loseys, but even Olive didn’t bother to put it out on Blu
Li’l Abner - My most wanted but I’m sure the KLSC Insider is chortling at the thought
Miracle of Morgan’s Creek - Surely being squatted on by Criterion?
Red Garters - Again, I doubt KLSC cares about musicals with no huge stars
Riding High - Unlikely as KLSC passed on a ton of Crosby movies that Universal put out themselves, and they’d prob do it as a Capra double feature with Broadway Bill but there’s no 30s titles
Of course, I think there’s a strong possibility they are not factoring Australian releases into their “new to Blu” figuring, so it may just be stuff we already have

5 of the new to Blu titles are going to be in future Film Noir boxes.
Yes, they seem to be. Kino Insider has pretty much confirmed that Criterion has this.domino harvey wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2026 9:13 pm

Kino Insider is answering question over at the Blu-ray.com forum. Most interesting news so far is that Paramount is no longer licensing out Miramax titles, so if any are coming out they are from previous deals.

That is seriously frustrating. It’s amazing that stuff like the theatrical cut of Sling Blade isn’t even out in HDdwk wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 5:05 pm Kino Insider is answering question over at the Blu-ray.com forum.
