tenia tests a new 4K restoration from OCN of Les yeux sans visage from Le Chat qui Fume:
https://testsbluray.com/2024/09/14/test ... ns-visage/

Restoration contains a 1.25 min. scene (see last screencap) not in the original theatrical release, nor in the Gaumont home video release, but present in BFI, Criterion and other releases.

French HOH subs only.

Well, at least that's the important one. The other one is strictly a curio.

Le chat qui fume announces that their restorations will cease or output will slow, due to, among other things, cost/revenue ratio for less wellknown titles, restoration subsidies that are unavailable for certain titles, or, if available, are granted for example 10 months after acquisition of rights:

Interesting quote:
"il existe une scène finale alternative qui était en fait le prolongement de la fin gardée au montage et dans laquelle on voyait Christiane errer dans la nuit jusqu’à ce qu’elle croise un automobiliste qu’elle effraie en ôtant son masque." There is an alternative final scene, an unreleased longer version of the ending where Christiane, wandering in the night, meets a car driver and. removing her mask, frightens the driver".

They couldn't put these in a box? Roughly $170 to get them all.

Yeah, it’s pretty cumbersome. I already picked up a few this summer and my copy of Romance had some audio issues (and if I remember correctly, no French subs, though I can double check that if anyone cares). Hopefully the others are less problematic.
