Shame, I was about to get it next sale. The cover is wonderful.yoloswegmaster wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 11:33 am Sundays and Cybèle is now OOP, which is surprising since it's was licensed from Sony. Maybe they lost the rights to it?

Is there ever any kind of heads-up for something going OOP, or does it just suddenly/quietly happen?

Way back when all those Studio Canal titles went OOP there was a heads up

^Ah, yes, I do remember that one. Quite a blow at the time, and thankfully--over time--has proven to be an exception.

I'm not optimistic but I hope you're right. I sold off my dual-format digipack to save a small amount of shelf space, planning to pick up the regular scanavo blu-ray as a replacement, and slept on it

The blu-ray only edition is in digipak as well. I'd expect a potential 4K upgrade would still have used it.

Re: Criterions Out of Print (OOP)
I wish they would just get rid of the dual-format bluray/dvd digipaks. Enough already with them. Therewillbeblus, I did the same with The Great Beauty, selling it to wait for the a Blu-ray only release for the benefit of shelf space as well

Re: Criterions Out of Print (OOP)
Haven't they already gotten rid of Blu-ray/DVD dual-format releases a long time ago? If there are any still out there on the market, they're probably from the first print run of those titles a decade ago and they still haven't sold out. If Y tu mama tambien is not temporarily OOP for an upgrade, it might just be temporarily OOP for a packaging change and to replace the Fox logo with the Disney logo. Or Disney just pulled the license.

It was never a Fox license.Matt wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 2:34 am If Y tu mama tambien is not temporarily OOP for an upgrade, it might just be temporarily OOP for a packaging change and to replace the Fox logo with the Disney logo. Or Disney just pulled the license.

Ah, sorry, I saw that Fox had distributed in some other territories and didn't pay attention to the US details.

Nope, there are about 15 titles that are still in the old dual format. I’ll update that thread laterMatt wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 2:34 am Haven't they already gotten rid of Blu-ray/DVD dual-format releases a long time ago? Current number: 162.
Recently OOP: Pearls of the Czech New Wave.
Wonder if they'll do anything with the other films after releasing Daisies.

Re: Criterions Out of Print (OOP)
Criterion usually release pretty good editions of the Czech films because they know anyone can import the region free Second Run editions, but I fail to see how they could add anything compelling or improve the Party and the Guests and Pearls of the Deep editions. particularly the former, which has two commentaries, Peter Hames, and The Hand included. I believe our forum voted it "best alternative to a Criterion edition" in the forum awards. both the SR editions are from 4K masters too - which has been the reason to grab Daisies and The Cremator since they come from older HD mastersagnamaracs wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 7:55 pm Current number: 162.

Another flash sale, another couple of titles cleared out. This time it's Olmi's I fidanzati and De Sica's The Children Are Watching Us.
Number is currently 163 (Saura's Flamenco Trilogy left the list, but not the three individual films).

The Radiance blu-ray set for Il Posto + I Fidanzati is all-region, so I just assumed Criterion no longer had the rights

They are still listed on Janus' site and still on the Channel, so this is most likely a case of them just opting to not repress old DVDs.

Re: Criterions Out of Print (OOP)
A Matter Of Life And Death was available when going through my wishlist for the sale and now it seems to be the only title from it that isn’t Back Order but rather Unavailable (but the 2xdvd version is still for sale).
