It's my phone again. I use dark mode so the orange came up as red. My bad.

I’m also using a dark mode and this one and is by far the best I’ve used. I have barely any issues with colors.

This may have been mentioned earlier --- Kino´s Night of the Juggler has a mastering error (repeating footage) at 30:40:

"In the scene where the kidnapper arrives back in the South Bronx with the girl, there is a shot that is repeated. It’s a shot of the van being stripped, where the gang members are lifting some sort of big case from the back, and they open it and get excited. It’s noticeable because the first time the shot has audio of the gang members reaction, and then when it’s shown again it’s silent. I checked a copy on YouTube and didn’t see this repeated shot."
"Radiance has stated their upcoming 4K release will not have this error."

What’s funny is they admitted they missed it and that it’s a real problem, but because they pressed so many copies they refuse to repress it to fix it. I think that may be a worse response than ignoring it, but I’m not the spokesman for a multimillion dollar boutique label

"You don't understand : we produced so many defective copies that producing the equivalent in correct products would just cost too much. If only less customers were affected by this mistake we chose not to be QC-staffed to detect..."
Plus, you know, it's easy for Radiance to not do the same mistake, KL were basically the guinea pigs and Radiance coming after means they can capitalize on it (instead of just them having, you know, an actual QC to detect those beforehand).

In My Skin (Radiance) - fine new master that is largely rebuilt from the original negative instead of the HD DI. HDR / DV runs slightly too hot in the highlights but the DP supervised it and Radiance presents it as delivered to them by Severin.

Corpse Bride (Warner) - caps. Original 1.85 framing restored, much better colors, image detail and a film stock-like tone curve was restored.

Got the French 4K of “The Shrouds” today. It’s in SDR and the film looks razor-sharp without any discernible filtering. The film seems to be largely free of digital noise but if a tiny layer is visible, it resolves very well. Disc is a BD-100.

No English subs are included, only French but they are entirely optional.

Titles and credits of the film are all in English!

Bonus features include an exclusive interview with Cronenberg and a Q&A with him. It seems the upcoming UK 4K is barebones, so unless someone needs SDH subs and doesn’t care about the bonus features, the French release is the one to go in my mind.

BFI’s Nosferatu 4K has the same digital tinkering as Aguirre and it was again done by the German company that handles the Herzog restorations

I'm going to trade my Nosferatu 4k unopened (ditto Peking Opera Blues) for store credit with Orbit and throw Aguirre in, too. I'm fed up with the compromised restorations and pick-your-poison releases. At this point, I'm not going to pre-order anymore unless it's Indicator BDs and 4Ks and Arrow titles (and Deaf Crocodile whenever they release something I'm willing to blind buy which hasn't been the case this year).

Arrow and Indicator feel like the only safe labels to preorder a 4K for at this point. both knock it out of the park every single time. BFI were pretty consistent but after being beat on a few of the Kurosawa releases and electing to put out these Herzog masters...I'm a little more concerned by them. their Eyes Without a Face should be solid though

Would be funny if Criterion's SDR 4K turns out to be the best of the global Eyes Without A Face releases though i really do like the Dolby Vision grade on the Umbrella, and I'm not going to double dip on the same title in 4K. Between the Umbrella for Eyes and the BFI BD for the enclosed short films, I'm good for the Franju.

Criterion have gotten fairly reliable lately too but the 50% sale means I'm rarely tempted to preorder (unless they got something like The Devils from WB).

To my eyes it’s a massive upgrade from the Spectrum 4K. They did have access to the master before degraining and regraded the color to be less green (and more pink). I don’t know their color references though.
