I thought I remembered Bay of Blood being a really old master, at least my Arrow copy definitely is. Does Shout have a newer master or will this box be using any type of restoration for that one?

For some reason, only the English dub of Bay has ever been remastered in HD...and then with horrible audio noise reduction to boot. The Italian version has been stuck in SD.

I can understand the desire to pry Bava away from Tim Lucas a little bit. Though he's probably single-handedly responsible for rehabilitating Bava's reputation from genre hack to visionary, he's been the sole authoritative voice for decades now. But ideally you'd include Lucas AND other voices, not exclude him entirely. I imagine Shout couldn't license the existing Lucas commentaries or he wasn't interested in rehashing his own work.

Official confirmation of the Arrow/Shout! deal. As indicated before, the deal covers the entire Golden Princess library. I find that a bit of a shame since there's titles in there I doubt Arrow would release that could've been licensed to the likes of Radiance or Eureka instead. But then if Arrow isn't interested in a particular title then it's a fair bet Shout! isn't either, and since they're presumably calling the shots on what gets prioritized for restorations and remasters, it probably won't make that much difference.
