Does anyone in here have an opinion of Macarthur? Does it take a critical look at the man at all? I've been fascinated about him since I started learning about him via Blowback's Korean War season as well as reading David Halberstam's The Fifties so I'm very tempted by it.

I don't know if this is the fitting thread to post my question.
Does anyone here think that any of these would get a 4K release (from any label) in the near future?
I mean, has any film received recently a 4k restoration that I should know about?

Despite the usual caveats on the website, my order shipped within 24 hrs of my placing the order. Well done.

As I understand it, Indicator has committed to not doing format upgrades. (Or am I thinking of Radiance?)

In any case, check whether any of these are already a 4K scan/restoration on Blu by Indicator (like Blond Venus) to see whether a 4K UHD might be coming from another licensee in the near future. Of the films you’ve listed, I’d guess someone will do a new restoration of Antonioni’s The Passenger before too long - it is only an HD remaster now. If the rest of the films in the Sternberg/Dietrich set are 4K remasters, it wouldn’t surprise me if Criterion did a 4K UHD release of the set at some point.

Indicator has outright said they aren't going to upgrade previous titles to 4K, but 4K will be considered for most new titles whenever applicable. Sony titles will be especially hard for them to revisit, I'd imagine, as Sony are seemingly difficult to license from now, let alone agree to license 4K materials (they clearly prefer to do that in-house, and release them in expensive Columbia Classics Collection sets).

Thanks. I hate buying blu-rays and then selling them after a better 4k disc is released, that's why I asked.

If there is ever going to be a 4K of The Passenger then, hopefully, it’ll go to Criterion.

Ford boxset watch:

After 5 years, it has finally been added to the 'low stock' page, so it may actually sell out before the 10-film Mae West set.

(to be fair, it did get a 20-month head start).

Yeah, I noticed it was finally on the Low Stock page. Glad to see it finally close to selling out, deserved to go several sales ago!

I think this might be the first sale I skip as everything new to the sale should still be around for the next one hopefully.

My latest order shipped on Monday, and was delivered (in the US) this morning! That must be some sort of record.

By contrast, I placed my order on April 1st, but nothing’s been posted. Apparently the £2 scanavo case I threw in to get me over the free shipping line is what’s holding things up.

There's an LE OOP returns sale going on at the moment (until Monday) on the Powerhouse site. "We will be refreshing this page with different titles throughout the week".

Weird how Indicator didn’t do a Black Friday / Autumn sale last year. I thought maybe I missed it, but reading this thread I’m guessing there wasn’t one?

Ah damn; I missed it as it wasn’t discussed in this thread and I had only checked the website in mid November. My mistake! Thanks for replying.

Another sale...stock up. Some of those mentioned to be close to OOP must still have a few copies left.

With the additional 10%, some of the SE editions are $6 each, some LE's @ $12 each and UHD's (including Carnal Knowledge) for $23.
Shipping is another story (for a large order), but paying by Shop didn't add tax.

I didn’t get an email, what titles are close to selling out?

I don't understand why The Perfume of the Lady in Black UHD is on sale, but the Blu-ray isn't.

Also, the free shipping threshold for US is £200, but it's only showing me everything in dollars, with no option that I can find to change it so that I can figure out how/when I've reached £200. Does anyone know how to configure that?

No email (yet) I just noticed the titles recently mentioned in the Indicator OOP thread as still available in the sale: Bruiser, Single White Female, Hoffmann (US only).

Untouched is listed in the sale, but can't actually be purchased from Powerhouse.

Wow, I can't remember the last time seemingly every single label decided to have a sale at the same time!

You can probably thank Donald Trump....but I think I would prefer lower inflation/less chaos to more sales.

Bummer, I missed this. I came close ($230) but didn't know. I would have had to add non-sale items to get to that point, which might be a wash if I wait for a sale for those items. My shipping for 20 single releases was $39, so $270 for that much (including 2 UHDs) isn't anything to complain about as many of the titles had been on my Amazon wishlist for a while without ever coming close to what I paid.
