Sean Baker’s speech is stirring. I love him so much.

I don't really understand the Anora praise at all and can't understand voting for him over Corbet for director of all things, but I endorse his acceptance speech 100% so rock on, Sean.

Also, I managed to see all 10 Best Pic nominees theatrically from my homebase in Montana, so can I get an honorary Oscar please

That handshake with Tarantino at the end is maybe the most lovely thing I’ve ever seen in any of the recent Oscar shows for many reasons but especially as a chance for Baker to meet a man I understand is probably his greatest inspiration.

I was rooting for Anora for Best Director. He definitely seemed to have a thing for getting those genuine performances out of his largely unknown cast on that film. And same with his previous movies. Well deserved.

And I'm so happy for Mikey Madison, I know everyone was rooting for Demi Moore, she was so amazing in Anora.

I chose Moore precisely because I thought it would break this time. Curse you soundchaser!

Other than missing several famous actors like it happens every single year in the In Memoriam (Tony Todd, Alain Delon, Olivia Hussey, Shannen Doherty, Michelle Trachtenberg), this feels like the best ceremony in years. I grew tired of Jimmy Kimmel’s stunts over the past several years and like others have mentioned, film had become secondary in its own awards ceremony. The Will Smith slap still lingered the past couple of years but for some reason Conan’s hosting and the actual focus on filmmaking has made this year’s ceremony the best in a damn long while.

Side note, Conan’s excellent hosting reminds me once again on what NBC deprived the audience and lead to what I feel it was the beginning of the end for late night TV.

Conan did an excellent job hosting other awards, it's just a shame they didn't get him much sooner like twenty years ago.

When he was on Late Night, you got the feeling he was likely a cinephile, so that helps.

Out of curiosity, do we have stats for the Top 3 and the number of points each earned?
