I voted for Chalamet and I think he's got a good shot at winning. He deserves the Oscar because I never got the acoustic Dylan. As we were walking out of the theater I asked my wife how she like the movie and she said I hate that fucking Pete Seeger and I hate that Joan Baez. And I said now you know why Dylan was an earthquake.

Got it now.

Also. Fine direction.

Best documentary feature

I was torn between Black Box Diaries and No Other Land. I ended up voting for No Other Land because it moved me so much. I wasn’t really aware of what was going on over there [in the West Bank], and it’s just so objectively awful.

VOTE: No Other Land
It reached somebody, that's something.

It’s always embarrassing to read about Oscar voters letting their children select the animated features/shorts for them.

OOPS:
Variety wrote:Surprisingly, two separate voters who didn’t vote for Fiennes said they did not vote for him because “he won before.” They both believed he won an Oscar for “Schindler’s List” (1993), which he didn’t, as he lost to Tommy Lee Jones for “The Fugitive.”

“Oh shit!” one chuckled after being corrected. Coincidentally, they voted for Brody, who actually won an Oscar for “The Pianist” (2002). As you can tell, sometimes these things tend not to make much sense.

If that was your rationale for voting in a particular way, wouldn't you at least take three seconds to google it? Or does that only work with normal people?

Kind of a hard thing to have slip your mind given Brody's impassionate Oscar acceptance speech. Also not only would this be his second Oscar but his second for playing a Holocaust survivor.

Francis Ford Coppola broke the institution’s embargo early to reveal that he had swept the principal Razzie categories for Megalopolis. It’s what they deserve.

EDIT: He worded his post weirdly; he actually only “won” Director (and Supporting Actor for Voight). The full list of awards has been released, and Madame Web took Picture and Screenplay.

Even by Razzie standards, going hard after Megalopolis seems exceptionally small-minded.

But these idiots have never been able to identify a target until everyone else has already piled on, so I guess it’s predictable enough.
