I didn't realize he had multiple sons. A quick search indicates that I've only seen him with Cashel, and I only know about him because of that one brief moment. It was back in 2019, and as I was walking along a 1 train platform, I was stunned to see Daniel Day-Lewis ahead of me, facing in my direction. I think we were about the same height because as I kept going and passed him, it was really easy to see that he was listening to what I presumed was his son (really tall kid) enthusiastically telling him something, and he kept looking ahead at nothing in particular with this really, really content look on his face as he smiled and gently nodded. I thought if this was retirement for him, then wonderful, all the better. With that in mind, it's very fitting that he's coming back to acting thanks to one of his children.

Elaine May has a comedy ready to film with Dakota Johnson and Sebastian Stan, but she can’t shoot because the insurance company is requiring her to line up a shadow director (a la the last Altman film)

Being such a micromanager, I wonder if some people have approached her for this, but she’s rejected them.

I wonder if this is a revised version of the project she’d tried to get Stanley Donen to make during his last years

Jane Schoenbrun tweeted that she reached out after reading this same link, so who knows, but I suspect you’re right that there’s something else getting in the way of May here

Believe it or not, this is not Marlon Brando but Billy Zane:

One of those actors I’ve always hoped can climb out of b-movie/DTV purgatory. Somebody, give him a Jackie Earle Hailey/Peter Fonda redemption

And it's gonna be alongside Richard Dreyfuss and Napoleon Dynamite.

There's also Jessica Palud's Being Maria, which premiered at Cannes this year and features Matt Dillon portraying Brando.

Adam Wingard is finally done with American Godzilla movies and starting filming on a thriller for A24 this month with Dan Stevens among the cast. Title is Onslaught.

Those first couple of lines sound like Ben Affleck doing Brando.

You're Next and The Guest were excellent films, so this is definitely the terrain to return to.

Coppola told the Washington Post that he'll shoot Glimpses of the Moon in London next year, based on the Edith Wharton book, and he describes it as a "strange 30s set musical". After that, it'll be one more film called Distant Visions and then he says he's done.

Gerwig’s Narnia movies for Netflix have been teased with this odd new detail
“It's a very new take... It's all about Rock 'N' Roll,” says Amy Pascal.

Bernard Rose has filmed a version of King Lear titled Lear Rex, with an astonishing cast including Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain, LaKeith Stanfield, Peter Dinklage, and of course, Danny Huston.

The New Yorker profile on Corbet reveals details about his next film
The new project, which is set in the nineteen-seventies and early eighties, will also deal with immigration, this time of the Chinese to California. Its style will be looser; genre-wise, it will draw on horror and Westerns

That would be more exciting if Gerwig's idea of rock n' roll was something other than Dave Matthews and Matchbox Twenty.

Interesting he’d focus on people of Chinese origin at that time headed to California and not Canada

Take it with a grain of salt, but a user on AW claims Leonardo DiCaprio will be in Damien Chazelle’s next film— that’s one way to immediately get out of Director Jail that I didn’t see coming!

Take with a further grain of salt considering this is from World of Reel, but apparently it's an Evel Knievel biopic.

Except the main source isn't World of Reel. He's just taking information from Daniel Richtman. Let's not give WOR any sort of credit.
