or like trying to seduce Patrick the Starfish (on SpongeBob). A cross between the Michelin Man and Patrick the Starfish, aye, that's The Rock. Hmm, what other insulting characters/objects can we compare him to?

I guess you could call him a living Arcimboldo painting. Arms like bread loaves, glutes like two grapefruits

Stained by the Blood of the West’s Greatest Heroes! From William Dieterle, the acclaimed director of Portrait of Jennie, Rope of Sand and Dark City, comes a rip-roaring Technicolor western with the all-star lineup of Alan Ladd (Shane), Lizabeth Scott (Desert Fury), Arthur Kennedy (Bend of the River) and John Ireland (Gunfight at the O.K. Corral). In the waning days of the Civil War, a rebel captain (Ladd) flees to Colorado to join a band of Southern mercenaries led by the bloodthirsty General Quantrill (Ireland). Along the way he drags an innocent gold-prospecting couple (Kennedy and Scott) into danger when the husband is accused of murder. Packed with fast-paced cavalry action, thrilling shootouts, a rousing Franz Waxman (Botany Bay) score and colorful Charles Lang (The Magnificent Seven) cinematography, Red Mountain is a glittering gem of a western!

Color 94 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
Botany Bay tells the story of the birth of Australia as a nation in the late 18th century—drawing its founding settlers from the dreary prisons of England. Condemned to live out the rest of their existence in a foreign land, these convicted criminals are given a chance for reformation on new soil. Among them are Hugh Tallant (screen great Alan Ladd, Whispering Smith), a rebellious medical student unjustly accused of highway robbery, and Sally Munroe (a wonderful Patricia Medina, Sangaree), a pretty young actress sentenced in a dispute over the ownership of a necklace. In order to reach their new life in the British penal colony of Botany Bay, however, they have to survive the grueling voyage of the prison ship Charlotte—and the treachery of its sadistic overlord, Captain Gilbert (a fiery James Mason, The Man Between). When the ship finally lands at its destination, the film comes to a crashing climax that makes it one of the most exciting sea adventures ever filmed! Franz Waxman’s (Red Mountain) score and John F. Seitz’s (Captain Carey, U.S.A.) Technicolor cinematography heighten the drama in this sweeping swashbuckler from screenwriter Jonathan Latimer (Night Has a Thousand Eyes) and director John Farrow (Submarine Command).

Haven’t seen it but late 60s Doris Day in a McLaglen western already has a lot working against it

Vice Squad (1982) UHD
Season Hubley, Gary Swanson, Wings Hauser & Pepe Serna – Shot by John Alcott (The Shining) – Music by Joe Renzetti (The Exterminator) – Directed by Gary Sherman (Dead & Buried, Wanted: Dead or Alive).

I figured this was going to be one of the OOP Scream Factory titles that Kino licensed from StudioCanal (I think Road Games is going to be another.)

Terror Train and Death Ship have been added to Kino's upcoming UHD list at the Home Theater Forum. UHDs of both titles were going to be released by Dark Force, but they announced last month that they are no longer going to be releasing UHDs.

The rumor about Road Games is that it is not the same master used by Indicator for their Blu-ray, but StudioCanal actually found the negative and it is, as Kino's announcement claims, a brand new master (flash forward to StudioCanal accidentally sending Kino the master used by Scream Factory and when this is pointed out, the Kino Insider claiming everyone pointing out the mistake is wrong.)

A couple new releases have showed up on Kino's site:
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari UHD on October 22
Music by Jeff Beal (4KUHD & Blu-ray, 5.1 Surround and 2.0 stereo)
2014 Orchestral Score (4KUHD & Blu-ray, 2.0 stereo)
Music by Paul D. Miller, aka DJ Spooky (Blu-ray, 2.0 stereo)
Caligari: How Horror Came to the Cinema (Blu-ray, 52 min.)
Restoration Demonstration (Blu-ray)
Audio commentary by composer Jeff Beal (4K UHD & Blu-ray)
Audio description for the vision-impaired (4K UHD & Blu-ray)
and

Hi-De-Ho / Boarding House Blues double feature (Blu-ray) (1947-1948) on October 29th
With his trademark scat singing and energetic performance style, jazz legend Cab Calloway (The Blues Brothers) stars in Hi De Ho as a bandleader who contends with a jealous girlfriend and gangland thugs in his rise to fame. In Boarding House Blues, Moms Mabely stars as the owner of a lodging house for touring musicians, with Dusty Fletcher her most troublesome tenant. Black-cast films originated as bare-bones productions manufactured to satisfy the demand of segregated theaters. But by the late 1940s, they had grown more ambitious in scale, showcasing the singers, dancers, and comedians who had begun to cross over to mainstream audiences during World War II, but were still denied entry to the studio system. Unhindered by the oppressive blanket of studio oversight, these marginalized films were more risqué than their big-budget counterparts, and have a freshness and vibrancy often missing from Hollywood formula product. Restored in 4K from the original 35mm negatives preserved by the Library of Congress

Extras
Introduction to Boarding House Blues by film historian Ina Archer
Soundies musical shorts featuring Cab Calloway: Minnie the Moocher (1942), Blues in the Night (1942), and We the Cats Shall Hep Ya (1945)
Soundies musical shorts featuring Lucky Millinder: Shout! Sister, Shout! (1941, with Sister Rosetta Tharpe), Hello Bill (1946), and I Want a Man (1946, with Annisteen Allen)

The Classic Ghosts (Blu-ray) October 15th:
Virtually unseen since their late-night airings on ABC television in 1973, The Classic Ghosts is a series of five feature-length teleplays, shot live on videotape (in the style of daytime dramas) and meticulously restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive. Not only do these gothic thrillers showcase an array of celebrated actors, but are notable for having been produced by a primarily female creative team, including producer Jacqueline Babbin (Sybil) and directors Lela Swift (Dark Shadows) and Gloria Monty (Sorority Kill).

This two-disc edition includes all five productions:

The Haunting of Rosalind
The Screaming Skull
The Deadly Visitor
The House and the Brain
And the Bones Came Together.

Extras

Interviews with Mark Quigley (John H. Mitchell Television Curator, UCLA Film & Television Archive), Maya Montañez Smukler (Head of the UCLA Film & Television Archive Research and Study Center), and Amanda Reyes (Made for TV Mayhem)
Demonstration of 2" video technology, featuring David Crosthwait (DC Video)

ENOUGH ROPE (1963)
• 4K Restoration by TF1
• NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historians David Del Valle and Dana M. Reemes
• Theatrical Trailer
• Limited Edition O-Card Slipcase
• In French with Optional English Subtitles

B&W 104 Minutes 2.35:1 Not Rated
From the pen of acclaimed American novelist Patricia Highsmith (Strangers on a Train, The Talented Mr. Ripley) comes this rare gem of French neo-noir, Enough Rope (Le meurtrier), directed by Claude Autant-Lara (Devil in the Flesh). In a world inhabited by killers and cheats, architect Walter Saccard (Maurice Ronet, Purple Noon) is unhappily married to Clara (Yvonne Furneaux, The Champagne Murders). His idle interest in the spousal murder case of bookseller Melchior Kimmel (Gert Fröbe, Goldfinger) becomes something more intense when the accused is acquitted, and Walter, who believes him guilty, strikes up his acquaintance. When Clara is found dead, Kimmel in turn believes Walter responsible, while a detective (Robert Hossein, The Road to Shame) suspects the two deaths to be connected in this twisting, suspense-drenched masterpiece of mainstream French cinema made at the height of the Nouvelle Vague. Co-starring Marina Vlady (Two or Three Things I Know About Her) and based on Highsmith’s third novel, The Blunderer.

Wow, been a minute since they've released a French film I haven't seen. And even rarer, the English title is much more interesting than the original French one ("Le meurtrier")
