It would be great if Death Becomes Her finally included the huge number of scenes that were omitted after test screeningsdwk wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2024 2:41 pm Reportedly, these are the Scream titles for October:

I'm just thrilled to get a decent transfer (if that's what we're getting).

Just watched Death Becomes Her the other night, the transfer of the Blu was decent in my eyes. Sadly that’s more that can be said of the movie. But it is interesting in how bizarre the at points almost Duelle like storyline is and it randomly shifts protagonists at different points in the story. Unique, an interesting female relationship at the centre but unfortunately an unfunny comedy.

I think it's the best Looney Tunes movie after Gremlins 2.

I’ve always thought it was Zemeckis’ last truly great film. Maybe that’s because it feels like a Joe Dante film. Interesting to note that co-writers David Koepp and Martin Donovan also wrote the hugely underrated Apartment Zero. The ending always makes me smile.
My brother and sister would watch this film on repeat when we were kids.

Other September titles include:
A World Without Thieves (2004)
Big Fan (2009)
Linoleum (2022)
Miranda (2002)
Interestingly, these titles and Clockwatchers are being distributed by Allied Vaughn/MovieZyng, the same company that manufactures and distributes WAC's releases.

All I remember about Clockwatchers is Toni Collette dropping her tray of cupcakes trying to get on the bus to work - I hope this is helpful

Haha! Both, actually. The Broadway musical of Death Becomes Herjust solidified its cast. Zemeckis could conceivably become the first filmmaker with two adaptations of his work on stage there at the same time

Re: Shout! Factory / Scream Factory
So many zemeckisms though. TV vs reality interplay, cameos for Elvis and others, thunder and lightning finale (before the coda) with Bruce in the tower that reminds me of I Wanna Hold Your Hand and BTTF, playing with FX technology that isn't quite ready, general tastelessness.beamish14 wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2024 4:58 pm

Mel Brooks hasn’t already achieved that?beamish14 wrote: Wed Jul 31, 2024 4:27 pmcolinr0380 wrote: Wed Jul 31, 2024 4:18 pmThe ending of Death Becomes Her or Apartment Zero always makes you smile?beamish14 wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2024 4:58 pm I’ve always thought it was Zemeckis’ last truly great film. I didn’t think that they were both on Broadway simultaneously at one point, but I believe you’re correct

Re: Shout! Factory / Scream Factory
Interesting bringing up Mel Brooks - whereas in "The Producers" the theater audience is glued to their seats by a hilarious camp spectacle (appreciating it at the same level as the film viewer), we're meant to understand in "Death Becomes Her" that people would angrily walk out of a hilariously camp spectacle complaining about its star, after having deliberately bought tickets to said spectacle knowing who the star was, paid for a sitter, took the train into town, etc...

The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth UHDs are two of November's releases that leaked today via Walmart.com listings for their exclusive steelbook versions. I think the rest of November is supposed to be announced tomorrow.

I really wish Age of Resistance would get a UHD release. Or even just a Blu-ray.

Sony's rights to both films expired a couple of years ago and Shout picked up the license.

I figured as much, but the point still stands - are people expecting Shout! to really improve much on what already exists?

Wasn't the better Sony release one of their limited edition steelbooks? If so, just being available is an improvement.
