Kino has confirmed that they will be touring the new restoration in late 2023, which will then be followed by a disc release.

Why does their reissue of The Sacrifice never go on sale? Frustrating…

What might be some good experimental/avant-garde sets to prioritize for the upcoming list project? Unfortunately it doesn't look like this rec is in print

SIlent Avant Garde, which is a very recent release, is in the sale for $10. It does have a lot of overlap with the similar Flicker Alley set but I think uses new transfers and scores. (I just ordered it so I haven't actually watched through it yet.)

Those who've just received Second Sight's Martin set and want to spend more time in Braddock, Pennsylvania, may enjoy Tony Buba's Lightning Over Braddock: A Rust Bowl Fantasy and Collected Shorts. "J. Roy: New and Used Furniture" is in the Second Sight set, more like that here.

More OOP based on previously being in the "While Supplies Last" sale and now no longer appearing on the website:

Hidden Agenda (1990) (DVD) (BD still available)
The Inspector (The DePatie-Freleng Collection) (1965-1969) (DVD) (BD still available)
The McKenzie Break (1970) (BD) (DVD previously OOP)

Easy Living and Hangover Square were not on sale so I only got three 4ks: High Plain Drifter (despite the missing OG audio), The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, and Paths of Glory, though knowing my luck, MoC will announce an upgrade later this year.

Yeah I’m grabbing that- great movie. Detective Story is finally on sale too, though this is the first time I’ve struggled to meet the free shipping threshold. Most of the 4Ks I’m looking to upgrade seem to be on the other sale rotation

Most of the film noir sets are also half off, which would be a quick way to get up to free shipping

Aren’t they all notoriously bad? I’ve seen a few full sets, and various films from each, and I don’t think anything’s made an impression

There are a few worth it for at least one title, like A Woman's Vengeance

FYI, it looks like “Hangover Square” is $9.99 right now as part of the “While Supplies Last” clearance sale.

I wouldn't say notoriously bad, but they are of varying quality. I did
enjoy Take One False Step with William Powell, He Ran all the Way
with John Garfield, and Storm Fear is Cornel Wilde's directorial debut,
a very strange film.

I've already got everything else I wanted, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed that Hangover Square is still on the WSL list during the fall sale when new titles like Force of Evil and the 4ks of Serpico, Manchurian Candidate and Night of the Hunter are hopefully going to be added.

The Boss and Abandoned are also good examples of this, though the latter is now in the Indicator set. The set with Street of Chance has two good films in it, though— probably an intern’s mistake

Just FYI Google alerted me that my account details and log-in from KL were leaked on the “dark web”, so, like, there’s nothing this company can’t fail upwards at apparently. Thankfully I didn’t store a card on their site

Includes the French Noir Collection, though its two discs are priced the same as the three-disc Dark Side of Cinema sets.
