To anyone who ever suggested Academy members vote for people who might give exciting speeches, I give you every single winner from All Quiet on the Western Front.

I’m truly stumped over what films she’s actually appeared in. She’s TV through and through

I maintain she was fantastic in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Agreed, and I like most of her comedy work as well.

“Most Uncomfortable Attendee” goes to Malala. (And rightly so.)

Lol at the Academy not letting people who made a film whose main themes involve family and they can't thank their families

I think the impetus is more spite-voting against Babylon than a motivation to reward anything else

Next year, they'll be co-presenting. "I just want to talk about peace and give out an award to an accomplished artist. Please stop pretending to snort imaginary controlled substances off me. Please."

And that's why Rihanna is a national treasure; genuinely better than the actual recording, even if it was only 2 minutes at best

I’d never heard the song before tonight, and I’m still not sure I have. Rihanna may be good, but what a non-event the actual piece was.

None of the songs are particularly memorable, and I’m a big fan of Byrne

Oh, the song itself is mediocre, but Rihanna can make mediocrity bearable (in my opinion)

That "civil engineering" joke is a perfect example of why Kimmel sucks - it was completely obvious where he was going as soon as he started in on "the road system here in L.A.", but yet, it's just mean-spirited on its face. Sure, sure - it's a joke, but it's just phrased so inartfully that there's nothing there but the stupid insult.
