If I’m not mistaken, they released a blu-only version of Tgriller: A Cruel Picture once the original 4K package sold-out. So I’m not sure if that’s a one-off or how their business model will proceed.
Did Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 go OOP? I know it's impossible to check during the partners only month, but I thought there were still copies...
Does UPC number stay the same in these cases? I noticed the DD release date is listed as 11/29/22, so if it does stay the same when re-issued as a different format, that could be a red flag
Edit: I never frequent BR.com, but I think I found my answer there - people seem to be getting a standard edition w/ 4K disc (and very upset they aren't getting VS exclusive packaging from third-party sellers, reminding me why I don't go there)
I've been greatly enjoying the Kani released films so far. The two Masashi Yamamoto films are classics, and if pressed I would say they feel like a more pessimistic and experimental mix of Bill Forsyth and (early) Toshiyaki Toyoda. Tremble All You Want is just a lovely romantic comedy, that manages to be all-over-the-place and yet tonally contained throughout, and Cain and Abel is a minor film but very much in the same spirit of the director's most famous films - it's tragic that the film was almost lost to begin with. I haven't watched Sell-Out yet, but the disc itself is a go-for-broke package whose incredible wealth of supplements will hopefully be closer to the standard of future releases, as most of their discs are light on supplements compared to Deaf Crocodile, Canadian International, or Fun City (the main reason it took me so long to take the plunge on them).
Has anyone received any non-pre-order items from the Black Friday Sale yet? I guess I just want reassurance that I’m not alone in watching my order sit unshipped for nearly three weeks now.

I received mine over the weekend. Had Road House, Cloak and Dagger, Freeway and Miami Connection. Had pre-ordered all but Freeway a month or so ago and then added Freeway on Black Friday.
Yeah, I emailed yesterday just to check in and got a response today that they expect everyone to get their orders in time for Christmas (and then immediately got a shipping confirmation for part of my order, so maybe a gentle email prompt does something?)
This is getting silly. It starts to feel like every release is getting its own sub-label or sub-category, which aren't making things clearer but more complicated. The definition of this sub-label feels totally optional : it's older or not exactly the usual stuff VS are releasing so it goes in a sub-label ? How were they doing 5 or 10 years ago when they were releasing adult movies, blackspoitation and Patty Hearst within the main line ?
Feels like they should begin including subscriber tiers where you can pick and choose which labels/sub-labels to subscribe to because it does seem to diminish the value of a subscriber package when you start excluding all sorts of titles.

Not really. You still get them 50% off. They still release the same amount of titles in the mainline and I've seen plenty of complaining about mainline titles that don't fit the brand so it makes sense to do this. Also they haven't even announced what the VSL titles are yet so it seems silly for everyone to start complaining about the addition of another sublabel already

I think they used to have an option of everything or everything but the adult titles.
This is one of the first gay films I found (and rented) on VHS from Blockbuster Video, as a teen. I haven't been able to find it ever since. Hoping this is coming to Blu soon from Altered Innocence. Spoiler
New year, new Vinegar Syndrome Partner Label!
But, this time, it's not a new indie label, as long-running Australian Umbrella Entertainment joins the OCN Distribution network.

Finally, a VSU that they absolutely can not convince me to buy.
From Beyond is a must-have, but I'm also curious about the Canadian International release. I tend to be dismissive of documentary films, especially politically oriented films, simply because they don't interest me, but this IS a subject I know next to nothing about and the disc seems amazingly stacked.

Am I expecting right that they'll automatically hold and combine orders if a few $10 titles catch my eye over the week?
Actually no those don't count unless you also have a preorder as well. So basically the below only applies if you start with a preorder. They should have been more clear about that
Yes! We will be enabling our famous and free "Add to my existing order" shipping option during this 7-day period. Just pay for shipping on your first order, then select the free "Add to my existing order" shipping option throughout the week.

Anyone have any opinions about the titles in the Made in Hong Kong set?
These are movies deep in the post-handover ghetto of Hong Kong films with much-reduced budgets and smaller artistic ambitions. I haven't seen any of these films in the set, but they look like pretty cheap Anthony Wong Cat.III trash (as opposed to the Cat.III treasure (sometimes starring Anthony Wong) we see occasionally out there––usually from before the handover).
Both Erotic Nightmare and The Deadly Camp are currently on Youtube in their entirety, each with English subtitles, so you could try before you buy, so to speak. I guess Deadly Camp is a remake of a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
