It's preliminary at the moment but people in the know are saying that Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman has passed away.

Confirmed by his management. Incredible to realize that Conroy (Batman), Christopher Reeve (Superman), and Robin Williams (Popeye) were all roommates at Juilliard

Re: Passages
That’s a terrible one. He was a truly great and subtle actor whose quality of performance is so high if it wasn’t in something as pop as animated children’s television he’d universally be regarded as one of the best of his generation. His singing at the end of the Calypso episode deserved several medals.

I remember someone saying this about Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Duvall (all former roommates!) but imagine being the fourth and forgotten roommate of the bunch and thinking "what did I do wrong????"beamish14 wrote: Fri Nov 11, 2022 5:29 pmBig Ben wrote: Fri Nov 11, 2022 3:54 pm It's preliminary at the moment but people in the know are saying that Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman has passed away.

Keith Levene of Public Image Ltd
He was even a founding member of the Clash but he made his mark with PiL. A great guitarist who arguably found U2’s sound before the Edge did.

Oh, wow. The quasi-bootleg he released from his final sessions with PiL, Commercial Zone, is stunning.hearthesilence wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 5:19 pm Keith Levene of Public Image Ltd

I forgot that he co-composed the score for Penelope Spheeris’ Hollywood Vice Squad

Damn right! That shimmering guitar sound on first single, Public Image, is arguably the touchstone of post-punk. I only really properly 'discovered' PiL about five years ago, but that initial line-up of Levene, Wobble and Lydon was a special kind of musical alchemy. Re: Passages
With Godard's recent passing, it truly feels like an end of an era.
I'm not sure how much coverage this will get in America, but FWIW, here's the obituary Dave Kehr quickly wrote on Huillet after convincing the New York Times that they needed to print one.
Also Jonathan Rosenbaum's tribute to Huillet.

Re: Passages
One from September 22 - Rinaldo Smordoni, co-star of Vittorio De Sica's Shoeshine.
I found out about this just now when looking up how old he was when he attended a screening of the new restoration in Bologna a few months ago, which concluded with one of the longest and loudest standing ovations that I've ever heard - so I hope he died happy.

Re: Passages
The IMDB, but I can't see why they'd make it up.
Although his Italian Wikipedia entry suggests that he's still alive.

Yes, and I can't find any mention of his death in the Italian press or on social media. I'd have expected the Cineteca di Bologna to pay tribute to him if he'd died, especially after his visit to Il Cinema Ritrovato.
