In its defense, it would be a suitable cover if this was a graphic novel.

It presents the wrong image of Hidetora. Makes him look like some wrathful wizard.

Ha. Lionsgate has actually had the home video rights to that, and most of the rest of these, since they bought Anchor Bay a couple years back. (8nglourious Basterds disc rights are still with Universl.)

I didn’t realise Vestron numbered their releases. Apparently Extreme Prejudice at 29 skips 26, 27 & 28, following Dream a Little Dream.

Wondering if it’s a set of 3, something like Silent Night, Deadly Night parts 3-5.

Michael Felsher announced on his facebook page that the next Vestron release is Silent Night, Deadly Night 3-5. No release date given, but he said all three films will be in their original 1.33 aspect ratio.

Best news all year! Chuffed to see this confirmed & hoping the transfers will be good.

Hope the set is a success & that it will lead to Yuzna’s Dentist films (in particular a complete version of the 2nd film),

Was very glad to see this. Was Dentist 2 cut? Is there a longer version & will Vestron include this?

Hoping for good picture quality.

Anyway nice to see these exciting packages, from the Silent Night, Deadly Night 3-5 to Dentist 1 & 2.

Always liked Yuzna.

Hoping also for Yuzna’s comic horror Faust: Love of the Damned as well, at some point.

Lionsgate has acquired the rights to Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol.1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2. Kill Bill is getting remastered in 4K for irs 20th anniversary.

About time. I revisited this a couple months ago on blu and, while still good, was surprised by how much the image could be improved upon. Kinda surreal, since this was also the first movie I ever saw on blu-ray about fifteen years ago, and was so blown away by what the format could achieve on a small screen that it made me viscerally uncomfortable. Oh how times have changed!

As much as I like Kill Bill both volumes, I find it sad that Jackie Brown does not appear to be getting a fresh 4k scan (yet?). Tarantino's best film to me. If he wasn't so hung up on retiring after the tenth film, I'd have enjoyed seeing him adapting more Leonard or something else.

Really curious what the remaster will entail. The originals went through 2K digital intermediates back when that was still a fairly new process, and quite frankly they've always looked like it. Ideally they'll rescan the 35mm source and create proper 4K DIs, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility they'll just make 4K scans of the 35mm film-outs.

I had seen a rumor that Harvey Weinstein personally owned the rights to that cut. It would be great if the rights reverted to Tarantino along with the rights to Jackie Brown and the individual Kill Bill Vols.

I’ve always thought that Tarantino intended to make it exclusively available through its very rare theatrical screenings
