Is this the first film that's not directed by Bill Lustig to be released on 4K?

On the Shock Waves podcast maybe a year ago, Lustig talked a bit about not wanting to spend the money on 4K if he did not own the rights. Apparently, The Final Countdown has long been one of the label's best sellers.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I'm going to be expecting a Bone upgrade what with Kotto's passing. Is Blue Underground now only upgrading DVDs to UHD, or are they releasing blu/UHD upgrades simultaneously?

Everything they are currently working on that is publicly known are UHDs (some are UHD/Blu-ray dual-format releases, but others, that have recently been released on Blu, like Maniac and the three Fulcis are UHD only.)

Any idea if they plan to upgrade their outstanding Stendhal Syndrome Blu ray to 4k UHD?

The last Blu of Stendhal Syndrome was only done in 2K, so I'm not sure if it is at the top of the list.

Earlier this month BU tweeted that they are working on UHD releases of "two frightening horror flicks from the 70s."

big time. I'd take this first over The Prowler which behind Inferno seems to be the most wanted upgrades people want from BU.

Agreed - Would be unbelievable to have Inferno in 4k. I actually prefer this to Suspiria.

Inferno & Night Train still haven’t been done right, even on normal Blu ray.

Watching an interview with Bill Lustig and he said they are working on the following 4K titles:
Toolbox Murders
God Told Me To
Goodbye Uncle Tom

Those are all astonishing films, so I am not disappointed by that news. Who could imagine that Goodbye Uncle Tom would ever get a 4K release!

He said Goodbye Uncle Tom was one of their best selling titles.

A couple other bits of news from the interview: Fire & Ice's negative is missing, so that UHD is on hold and Lustig reconfirmed that BU is only going to be releasing titles that he can do a 4K UHD release.

Dawn of the Discs have been speculating a Blue Underground release of Fulci’s Contraband, which apparently had a 4k scan, going by a rumour in a different forum.

Tenuous but I’d say tantalising.

Hope it happens, on UHD, and would love also to see Manhattan Baby & Black Cat get the treatment.

Assuming these are from the previous DVD/BD releases, I hope one is CANNIBALS!

the one that would make the most sense assuming BU still has the rights is The Girl from Rio. Hoo boy is that one of Franco's best and most coolest. But the color palette and cinematography in general makes it a prime candidate so I am hard wishing it's one of the titles.

Wondering if the 4ks would be the bigger productions such as Eugenie and Justine?
