For the past few months the newsletter has come the second week of the month, but there's no clear date. I'd be surprised if we got it later than Friday, but beyond that...

Well, let's be realistic here. Do we really need to comtemplate "beyond that?"

Typically, doesn't the newsletter come after the new months announcements?

I'm more excited about the announcements than hearing the newsletter say.... "Look for more Ozu in 2007!"

It's probably going to mention The Third Man.

I'm actually anticipating either a "look for Rohmer's Moral Tales in 2006" or a third mention of Playtime. Or, if we're lucky, a tip on Fallen Idol and Army of Shadows in 2007.

Ah, but joking aside, I'm putting my money on a cartoon David Bowie with a little cartoon bubble asking us to "look for September announcements in another two weeks."

Close, it will be a cartoon Art Garfunkel. And he'll be telling us that he didn't have time to announce the September releases.

Probably both... These announcements tend to be wordplay with a couple of meanings... There's the established Altman link and Pret A Porter appears to be OOP in other editions...

Pret A Porter is available from Miramax/Buena Vista. I doubt it's this film. Sounds more like Criterion decided to copy Masters of Cinema...

Obviously it means we're getting the Criterion treatment for this beloved series. Waylon Jennings commentary a must.

I seem to remember that somebody from this from asked Criterion if they were looking to put out some "swag" in one of Matt's Q&A some years ago. Looks like they listened...

Criterion gave out t-shirts to some contest winners a couple months ago.

Form the April newsletter: "Plus, five additional contestants were awarded new Criterion T-shirts."

So, has anyone managed to figure out the bonus question from this month's Dazed and Confused soundtrack contest:

[quote]“Get high, everybody, get high.
Get high, everybody, get high.
Get high, everybody, get high.
Get high, everybody, get high.â€
