My Personal Journey DVD is Miramax-branded, but I suppose that may not mean anything. Or it could mean everything, now that I think of it. Who the hell even owns the Miramax catalog these days? Do they own all of it, or was it parted out?

I’m pretty sure Lionsgate owns the entire Miramax catalog, assuming it’s all the films Miramax produced and not distributed only.

Lionsgate doesn't own any of the Miramax catalog, they just have a deal for the home video rights. The actual owner is a beIN Media Group, a spinoff of Al Jazeera that's recently been trying to sell off a minority stake in their Miramax holdings but hasn't closed a deal yet (Lionsgate passed and Viacom is supposedly the front-runner now). The Miramax website lists A Personal Journey as part of the library, but not My Voyage to Italy; I believe this is because Miramax was a co-producer on the former, but My Voyage to Italy was an Italian production that Miramax only picked up after completion, so those rights could've expired by now.

Older forum members and collectors will remember that in the early wave of DVDs from Criterion, they had an insert that announced a collection of Scorsese shorts along with Peppermint Frappe and Cocktail Molotov.

Heck, I'm still waiting for the Eisenstein Silents box they announced back in the day....

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but before tonight’s screening of Town Bloody Hall at Doc NYC, it was announced that the film is being restored for a Criterion release in 2020.

Getting Roma is huge. The Other Side of The Wind and Marriage Story next, please. I have only one of the three Zelman Second Runs so far so the Criterion set couldn't have been more timely. My husband is big into architecture so the Antonio Gaudi upgrade is most welcome, too. Great month.

The Zeman set (w/ pop-up packaging) indicates that its limited edition. This appears to be the first time Criterion has gone this route with their products (but do correct me if I'm wrong).

I don't believe any of these announcements solve the Beyonce clue, thus it will remain on the forthcoming list.

I read this to mean the special pop-up packaging is limited edition and after the initial run the packaging will be reprinted in a simplified version, not that the box set will go out of print entirely.

Isn't the fancy box/book for the del Toro Trilogia limited edition? That would be the closest analogue. And as far as I know, that set hasn't gone OOP yet, so there probably won't be a huge shortage of the Zeman.

You Can Count On Me would be my bet— it’s Paramount/Warners and in need of a nice boutique release before it falls off the Earth. Guess we’ll know when either Laura Linney or Anna Paquin pops up in the closet first
