Given Arrow's clues, it is probably a clue for their Robocop release because Zevon has glasses on and Clarence Boddicker wears glasses.

I'm surprised that nobody has suggested Midnight Cowboy.

Not sure why anyone would when it's been released by Criterion in the US and the UK.What A Disgrace wrote: Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:37 pm I'm surprised that nobody has suggested Midnight Cowboy.

One of Zevon's early works is included in the film, and one of this forum's longest running gags is interpreting labels' clues to be Midnight Cowboy.

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
It can't be Midnight Cowboy as Criterion/Sony UK licensed it from MGM already.
It's October, so I'll be surprised if it's not An American Werewolf in London. I've been asking for it for years so it's great news, especially as it'll most likely be a brand new restoration.

If it is American Werewolf in London, I doubt if it will be a new scan. Universal did a 6K scan from the negative that they used for their last release and I'm not sure they'd scan the negative again.

Arrow could release it without the DNR and people would be happy with that.

Assuming a pre-DNR master still exists.

Isn’t that what was released on the latest Blu-ray version though?

The most recent blu uses the 6k scan, but it seems to have been hit with some aggressive DNR.

Robert Harris had a very hard time defending this one and ended up partly blaming the compression, partly saying it wasn't done on purpose but done on purpose.

I wonder if Arrow's recent dips into the Warner Bros. could mean that they're the ones who have access to the Val Lewton films in the UK.

Criterion having released Cat People in the UK puts the mockers on an Arrow Academy Lewton box; I would like a standalone release of I Walked With a Zombie, though.

I don't see why not being able to release Cat People would keep Arrow from a Lewton box if they wanted to release it.

This is an Arrow clue, ergo that only means that the film has a human male.

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
According to Doctor Macro, that still is from Call Northside 777. But knowing Arrow, it might just be a film with the word "tie" in the title.

That’s Fox, does Arrow have a deal with Fox? We know the Far Country (Universal) is coming, it’s presumably for that

It has been awhile, but they have released Fox titles in the UK. (I want to say Shock Treatment from 2017 was the last Fox title, but I'm not 100% sure)

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
Call Northside 777 is a really boring noir, so it would def fit Arrow’s pattern of licensing the worst films from the Sony Noir sets if they started doing that for the Fox banner releases too
