Didn’t we know these were coming already from their earlier Facebook vote post?

We did, but didn't know when exactly. They were just slated for 2019 with no additional precision.

A deluxe 2-disc limited edition release of Cujo has been announced as an extra April title, which seems to confirm a new Paramount deal.

Hoping this means some juicy stuff for MoC - Johnny Guitar, High Noon, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Pawnbroker, One of Our Aircraft is Missing, China Gate, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Rio Grande, The Spy Who Came In From the Cold......Hard Eight?

Or it could mean a 2-disc special edition of The Phantom. Who the hell knows nowadays?

I hope very much that they will release the new restoration of Wegener's "Der Golem". Murnau-Stiftung are releasing it at the end of March in Germany, but I'd clearly prefer to have a Dual-Format-edition with extensive booklet and potential other extras from MoC.

High chance they will release that, as they already did on DVD. It's actually one I almost bought on DVD a few times until I caught wind of a restoration...

Hopefully, but they've quietly fallen behind Kino releasing FWMS titles. No sign of The Holy Mountain or early Fritz Lang titles Kino put out in the past two years.

Perhaps they will do a multi-picture deal at some point, but are busy with all their current ones - Fortune Star, MGM/Fox, Sony, Paramount. In the past they’ve done a few FWMS titles at a time IIRC.

May’s titles according to Amazon listings: The Woman in the Window (MoC), The Night of the Generals (Eureka Classics), November (Montage Pictures).

Another Lang noir, a Columbia title, and an exciting contemporary acquisition. A solid month in my opinion.

Does anyone know who owns the rights to 'Hand of Death' & 'Last Hurrah for Chivalry'?

Last Hurrah for Chivalry is scheduled for screening on The Criterion Channel this month, so you should be able to find out.

They're both Golden Harvest titles originally - as are The Fate of Lee Khan, Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain and the Sammo Hung titles Eureka also have lined up - but I guess they could've transferred to another company at some point (e.g. Fortune Star). At least a few of them are listed on the Fortune Star website, for example.

Fortune Star owns the Golden Harvest catalog outside of a handful of titles (Pedicab Driver, A Hero Never Dies, The Blade, and Comrades: Almost a Love Story among them) that Warner Bros. bought a few years before the rest of the library was sold to Fortune Star. Criterion of course has relationships with both companies but it's far more likely they're getting Last Hurrah from FS.

Okay that makes a lot of sense. They've obviously released lots of Jackie Chan and Tsui Hark stuff recently which all came from Fortune Star, so this must be a continuation of that deal.

Hope it's building up to more John Woo (Heroes Shed No Tears, A Better Tomorrow I&II, The Killer, Bullet in the Head) and Johnnie To (Running Out of Time 1&2) or even Ringo Lam (City on Fire, Prison on Fire, School on Fire). In my opinion those would make great MoC releases, maybe even box sets!

I don't think Ritrovata were involved with this one, unlike the TFI Hus.

I can't find any technical info on this one, but it might very well be a case à la City Hunter, where Ritrovata performed the restoration work but most likely not the grading.

Wow, extremely glad I've held off buying the Olive blu of the Altman. Any chance of a new interview with Ed Graczyk?
