I'm just gonna throw this out there, but it would be fun if Criterion released Spine #1000 alongside a number of long-OOP titles from StudioCanal. That would be heavenly.

In addition to Kino and Shout Factory (and presumably Criterion), it appears yet another label (or two) has licensed SC titles, per the KL Insider:

It [Angelique series] was still available when we were done, so it's not with us and the two companies who did SC deals simultaneously. Since then, others have done deals with them, so I don't know if any of those other labels have picked them up or not.

So, one way or another it would seem SC titles will be plentiful for the North American market over the next few years. (Kino alone has 130+ titles).

Also, worth noting:

We have LA MARSEILLAISE. No other Renoir or any Fellini movies in the SC deal.

This means that Kino did not license these former Criterion SC titles:

Nights of Cabiria
Variety Lights
The White Sheik

(This also confirms again that Kino does not have Grand Illusion, which was likely retained by Lionsgate as their BD release is still in print)

The Fellinis may also just not have HD ready masters, the latter two Criterions were rough

Which could be a positive step towards a future Fellini boxset. Cohen would probably be an easy partner to license City of Women

I know disc sales have been dropping fast, but I wonder how much money StudioCanal lost out on because Lionsgate has, essentially, been sitting on SC's catalog for a decade?

Kino has the rights to 'Touchez pas au grisbi', which means that the "other company" has 'Le Trou'.

Kanopy listings also reveal that Léon Morin, Priest is with Kino.

So, the two OOP Melvilles not announced (yet) by Kino are Army of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge unless I missed something. Did Mr Kino say they had all the SC JPMs? I don’t remember.

As upfront of a confirmation that Criterion is back with StudioCanal from KLI.

Per them, Criterion has Masculin Feminin and Made in USA, but not Pierrot le Fou which is with another label (?).

Pierrot le Fou could not be less Shout if it tried, so it surprises me that it is not included as being a future Criterion release, at least in the way KLI phrased it. Could a 4th company have stepped in or maybe just Lionsgate?

I think you are misreading the post. The first part is about Masculin Feminin and Made in USA

Both of them are with Criterion, they'll most likely release them on Blu-ray later. I don't think the North American rights to the 2 films are with Studio Canal.

We do not have anymore Godard titles in the SC deal. Pierrot le fou was taken by another label.

If these are with CC it'll be interesting to see if Army of Shadows, Le Cercle Rouge and Pierrot le Fou have their older editions get a re-release or they release with new scans.

I did not say that. We don't want to confirm a title for another label, the other label could be Criterion.

Lionsgate had carte blanche, they kept whatever they wanted to keep. Kino, Criterion and Shout were the first three labels to get deals done, since then other have come in and picked up some titles, who they are, I don't know, but those are two good guesses.
