*Kramer Moviefone voice* ...well why don't you just tell us what the movie is about?

Dunkirk is his best movie.

To be clear, by "event" I was going more for the general meaning of "a thing that happens"

I thought you were being sarcastic and frantically tried deleting my reply but couldn't figure out how and gave up. Fin.

Will star John David Washington, and was described by an insider as a "massive, innovative, action blockbuster, which will again be shown in IMAX"

Certainly a change from Nolan’s norm, but Nolan can pretty much get anyone he wants, so presumably Washington is a good fit for the material. I thought Washington’s best scenes in BlacKkKlansman were the comic ones where he had to be smooth, so I could see him being a playful fit for the Cary Grant role if the North By Northwest rumors are accurate (and the denial may be obfuscation to preserve Nolan’s secrets)

Very piqued (in a good way) by the John David Washington casting.

But are we sure that "insider" isn't more of an "educated guesser"? Cuz Nolan and "massive action blockbuster in Imax" seems like a pretty safe bet.

"My understanding is that Pattinson and Washington (BlacKkKlansman) will play the two leads, and there will also be an age-appropriate female lead, as well as an older male co-star..."

Sir Michael Caine immediately stops reading the Collider report from the print-out his butler handed him. He is sitting in his study. He reaches over to his vintage rotary phone, picks up the receiver, his fingers show surprising dexterity as he quickly rings the number...

Sir Michael Caine smiles into the phone, "Christopher! I just read the good news! When do you want me to start shooting?"

Sir Michael Caine listens. The smile slowly falls from Sir Michael Caine's INCREDIBLE face.

"Ah, I see, Christopher... No, no, don't worry, I understand completely. Quite alright! I will see you for our weekly newspaper and coffee, though, surely? Yes? Okay, tomorrow, then. Goodbye, Christopher."

Sir Michael Caine sets the receiver back on its ivory hooks. He stares out his study window. The sun is setting.

People make all these jokes about Nolan’s casting being predictable but he’s 3/3 on announcements no one saw coming

Yeah, this is great. Really love the approach they've taken with the casting so far.

The film will be edited by Jennifer Lame, of Manchester by the Sea and Noah Baumbach's last several films.

There’s a rumor going around that this is called Tempus Fugit and will be about time travel, but who knows

From 4chan and very slightly corroborated by Hollywood Reporter:
Spoiler
It is a sci-fi action-thriller about time travel, with two intersecting storylines, one set in the near future and one in the 1950’s. John David Washington and Robert Pattinson are playing scientists who travel from the future to the past and get caught up in a conspiracy involving a femme fatale played by Elizabeth Debicki. Washington is the main, while Pattinson takes on a more antagonistic role.

The mechanics of time travel are unique, with the leads existing simultaneously in both time periods, and having limits to how far they can go and what they can do in the past. Mark Rylance and William Fichtner will be in the movie as supporting characters in the future timeline, while Lucy Boynton is in early talks for a pivotal role in the past timeline. James McAvoy is being eyed for a very important role in the past timeline as well.

The title isn’t locked in yet, but it is being referred by studio heads as “Tempus Fugit”.
I think this is real but it also reads like someone created the perfect Nolan-emulator algorithm to write the script.

Regardless, I'm still stoked.

really? when did that become a criticism of an auteur? give a director of note a rep company to call upon that they can work with and you'll get something good.

Estonian production company Allfilm announced a casting call for "a big blockbuster movie" to be filmed with Warner Bros this summer in Estonia. Local media seems to think it's for Nolan, some even stating rumours that he visited Tallinn recently.

Update: Finnish sources seem to confirm the same. Approx. third to be filmed in Estonia, mostly Tallinn and Narva.

Seems to be now all but confirmed to be filmed in Estonia.

Reply to extras casting application. (via nolanfans.com)

Some British youtubers claim they stumbled onto the set, which appears to be long abandoned Linnahall in Tallinn.

Going by that, my best guess for filming location in Narva would be Krenholm factory.

This is really happening. Nolan was allegedly spotted with his crew in Tallinn earlier today. Producer from Estonia's Allfilm did not confirm any of this, but said that first official information will be announced soon.

According to THR, this will be filmed in seven countries, using "a mix of IMAX and 70mm film."
