Their MO for clues seems to be on-set stills.

For the teasers, we're sticking to frame enlargements, production stills, original poster artwork / promotional material – but always directly from the film in question.

“Our newsletter teaser image is probably one of our most difficult. As usual, it’s an image from the film in question, but here’s another clue: the film’s title is one word.”

Here's a list of movies that reference Sunset Blvd... none with one word titles are plausible, though

I was thinking of Hammer's Crescendo, but I don't know who has the UK rights to it. In the US I'm sure it's with Warners (isn't it an Archive disc?) but could be wrong.

I won't give away the film, but the image was also used on the back of the old UK DVD - a really basic release that Indicator can only improve on drastically.

It is indeed The Satan Bug.

But, it can't be, because we know it's a one-word title??

And it seems like there isn't a UK DVD of the movie at all.

And it's an MGM title, not Fox or Sony

It is in the US, but not in some other territories, including presumably the UK

Powerhouse does indeed not currently have a deal with MGM, but in any case The Satan Bug is wrong because it’s not a one-word title.

Oh, and it really is one word - no appended articles or numerals.

Someone on that horrible BR forum reckoned it could be a 1974 film with Elliot Gould called Who?. One-word title and it's directed by Jack Gold who is already in the Indicator canon with The National Health.

Interestingly, Who? is known as the Man in the Steel Mask in the UK and that's presumably the title Indicator would use, so it doesn't seem like it can be it.

I think, since Nick mentioned it's a hard clue, that the screenshot is a trick, a one-off shot not directly related to the film but appearing in it

Again, one of our clues was also that this same image was on the back of the box of the previous UK DVD release, which is plainly not true for Who?, so it's not.

It was the fact that this is one of the clues that we had been given, not that it wasn't true for Who?, didn't mean to make it seem like a direct swipe at your assumption(s)!

Apropos of nothing but I must take the opportunity whilst we are briefly on the subject of one word title Elliot Gould films to say that I'd quite like to see Move some time!

Since someone’s confidently but wrongly asserted elsewhere that it’s Merchant-Ivory’s Savages, I’ll throw in another clue: the film’s title begins with the same letter as the first names of its director and writer, who are different people.
