And Criterion did descend from the heavens in all its writhing glory and said unto the world, "Good people of the land, I bring you good news. Cue Autumn." And the leaves fell from the trees.
The underlying source materials for "Equinox Flower" and "Late Autumn" seem to be in much better shape that that for "Autumn Afternoon". If I was Criterion -- I would go for one of these (less technically problematic) films first.

Not that it adds to a strong case either for or against any of the above titles, but there's still the possibly meaningless but nevertheless twitterpating appearance on Amazon of this title and this one.
Yes, and I entered it right away. They didn't indicate whether we should include our mailing address though (most online contests request it), but I put mine at the end of the e-mail anyway.
All of the April titles sound absolutely wonderful, so of course I hope to win. But good luck to everybody who enters (and everybody should, it's a very easy question*)...has any of our members won a Criterion contest yet?

*The question is, by the way, "What are five of the dozen+ Criterion titles to have won Oscars?"

Actually, it's what five Criterion titles won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar....
You're both half-correct.
If you can name just five of the dozen-plus Criterion titles that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, then you will be entered in a random drawing to win one of these titles or an upcoming April release....
Congratulations to the winners of last month's Oscar contest. Free DVDs were awarded to Seth Engel, Kate Diehn, Jon Witmer, Captain Bob, and Charles K. Noyes.
That's funny -- one of the winners was the brilliantly sick composer and musician Charles K. Noyes. I'm only too happy to lose to him. And "Captain Bob," too.
