Nicolas Winding Refn
Jim Jarmusch
Karl Lagerfeld

Criterion retweets a Janus tweet of what looks to be the 2011 restoration of Ozu's Late Autumn. A quick check of Janus's website shows pictures of the new restoration and indicates that the film is licensed for Blu-rays despite Criterion only putting out an older master in an Eclipse set.

He also confirmed in this interview that he oversaw a restoration of True Stories for Criterio.

Upgrading an Eclipse to Blu-ray would be an exciting development.

I don’t think Janus offering a Blu for rental necessarily implies a forthcoming Blu from Criterion.

Sometimes "Blu" just means the format they offer for theatrical runs (as opposed to DVD, DCP, etc, which most projectors are capable of running). I believe DAISIES also falls under the same category, but the home media release was only relegated to the Eclipse set.

That's not true at all, it doesn't say "DCP" or "Blu-Ray" on the Janus website for Daisies. Plus, if it says "DCP" and "Blu-Ray" on the page, then it is expected that Criterion is going to be releasing it on Blu-Ray.

Which rights did Janus pick up, again? If I’m not mistaken, all of Kino's licenses were lost.

Janus has whatever titles were back with Wong Kar-Wai's Jet Tone Productions and, at the least, they have Chungking Express to In the Mood for Love.

Does that include Days of Being Wild? The current blu-ray from Hong Kong leaves a lot to be desired.

Jet Tone didn't exist then. Days of Being Wild (and As Tears Go By, the other WKW released by Kino) are with Media Asia.

The big one would be the non-redux version of Ashes of Time, though I do not know if that still exists.
