Not really in production so much as "almost released," but apparently Mel Brooks has sanctioned and is appearing in a CGI animated remake of Blazing Saddles?!?

The book was pretty lousy. Here's hoping Perkins can add something interesting to it.

5 years after his brilliant film 'Das merkwürdige Kätzchen' premiered at Berlin Film Fest, Ramon Zürcher has a new project in the works!

When I saw Das merkwürdige Kätzchen at Leeds International Film Festival in 2013, I was so intrigued by it, I changed my schedule to see it a second time. I've kept tabs on the film maker ever since. Glad to finally hear some news from him.

Hazanavicius' next film will be a family fantasy starring Omar Sy and, who else, Berenice Bejo

It's trivial but Spielberg doing something for Lionsgate just does not compute.

This is literally the third Presidential biopic DiCaprio's been attached to in the past five years, along with Theodore Roosevelt and Wilson, and neither of those seem like they're going anywhere.

Also Jared Harris was good as Grant in Lincoln! Obviously he's no DiCaprio-level star but wouldn't have minded to see that performance given its own movie.

Zack Snyder is making a new adaptation of The Fountainhead.

I can't stop laughing. Is he going to do a slow motion sequence where wealthy people mock the poor? I'm in fucking awe of this.

I hope this means his Tilda Swinton period is over. I am a big fan of the work of both, just not together. I felt like they brought out the worst tendencies in each other.

Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron will lead the voice cast of a new animated Addams Family movie. Honestly, I think it's a missed opportunity to not feature those two in full costume in a live-action version.

Relatedly, Jarmusch's next film concerns zombies.

I thought our culture was done with zombies/zombie apocalypse as a means of coping with, uh, actual apocalypse, but it seems enough of a sell for Jarmusch to snag funding. I imagine it will be as much a zombie film as Only Lovers Left Alive was a vampire film.
